Because the serpent god now had people who worshiped it that it stayed in the world it should have long fled, breaking off the coral branches that adorned its body, treading upon land where it should not have, and facing a foe it could never hope to match — till at last, its divine form was sundered along with the mountains, its ichor turned into plasma, and its will and power became a curse that could never be extinguished: Tatarigami. Its resentment permeated the land, giving rise to Tatarigami on Yashiori Island.
The people of Inazuma then created wards housed within three Narukami Pillars to suppress the soul of Orobashi, hence subduing the Tatarigami, while the Yashiori Guardians led by the Kitain Clan also took up the mantle of suppressing the Tatarigami. The Tatarigami caused strange diseases and contaminated flora around Yashiori Island, leading them to evacuate outside the entire island. In addition to diseases, the Tatarigami causes persistent rain and thunderstorms to occur on Yashiori Island. Kitain was one of the Yashiori Island Guardians charged with subduing the Tatarigami that emerged after Orobashi's death. Orobashi's Tatarigami is similar to the festering corruption created after the death of Durin in Dragonspine or the curses of the countless slain gods in Liyue.
Following Orobashi's death, the main shrine on Watatsumi Island was subsequently abandoned, with a new shrine being built elsewhere. The people of Sangonomiya have recognized the Inazuma Shogunate as the rightful ruler following the death of the Great Serpent. The intense emotions of a vanquished people who just lost their God, Orobashi, was forced into shameful submission. They live a low profile in watatsumi island for several years while atoning their sin. There is no uprising for several years after this incident. The twin goddess Raiden shogun rule over inazuma like usual. Inazuma went back into its peace time for only a short while.
In Tsurumi island, one of the island in inazuma, there were a monster or godlike creature like orobashi going rampage. Known as the Great Thunderbird or Kanna Kapatcir, was the guardian deity of Tsurumi Island. There is a reason behind the Great Thunderbird sudden rage. While she razed the entire ümountain with lightning, killing every citizens in Tsurumi island. Even after annihilate an entire tribe, Her grief and vengeance was still so great that she moved outside Tsurumi and went into nearby island, tried to destroy everything in sight. It was hunted down for years and considered as monster. Raiden Shogun decide that the existence of Kanna Kapatcir was a danger to her people at Seirai Island. As the God protector of inazuma, Raiden Ei eventually killed the thunder bird and sealed it away at Seirai Island. The remnants of her power were sealed at Asase Shrine in Seirai island, where they formed a coagulation of regret. (Author Note: Maiden Asase Hibiki from Yougou Three was from Asase shrine.)
So, what's make the Thunderbird so angry? We need to return several years ago to find out the story. Tsurumi island was a home of a civilization that is likely related to Celestia, as similarly to Seirai Island. The island hosts a massive underground ruin that contains Ruin Sentinels. Most notably, there are murals of Celestia depicted on some of its walls in Tsurumi island. Sumida theorizes that something may have fallen from Celestia onto the island, which Kama suspects have manipulated the ley lines on the island. It might be actually the Thunderbird herself, so if Orobashi is believed to come from khaenri'ah, thunderbird is believed to come from celestia. (Author Note: Legend has it that when the great serpent first arose within the abyssal nation of ever-night, its fluorescent body was covered in myriad-colored coral. Abyssal nation of ever-night often used to refer to khaenri'ah).
The thunderbird was prideful, haughty, and often temperamental. A divine being who existed since before humans arrived on Tsurumi Island. She thought of humans no differently than the other animals inhabiting Teyvat. A tribe living in Tsurumi Island worshipped the thunderbird. Simultaneously fearful of her and thankful for her blessings, they chose shamans to offer blood sacrifices for protection and blessings. They would also interpret any of her actions as divine revelations and used an amethyst hourglass to predict her arrival and hold a festival when she arrived. The tribe believed that she placed a dense fog to "protect" them from the "sea of darkness"(Enkanomiya) outside the island.
Because Thunderbird life was much longer than a human's, she considered individual humans not worth remembering and generally was indifferent to the ones that worshiped her. The only exception to this was Ruu, a young lad who attempted to befriend the Thunderbird during their first meeting with his singing. One day, in the seasons when the Thunderbird flew amidst the stormy mountains, a young lad sang without fear. The lad's song broke through the clouds and captivated her. Attracted to his voice, the prideful Thunderbird landed by his side. The two talked briefly.
"Curious tunes, tiny human. Afraid not of thunder and storms?" Asked her.
The young lad paused and answered, "They said I can bring peace to thunder and storms". He continued his singing to the Thunderbird. The Thunderbird cried but kept its silence. For her was an enchanting song. The young lad subsequently gave the thunderbird a name, Kana Kapatcir. On one gloomy night, she shared a pure friendship with the lad.
"I shall sing you another tune, When you come again with thunder and rain."
Ruu promised to sing to Kapatcir again before they departed. While she appeared to act indifferent to him, she had sought to meet him again and wished to listen the boy's song again. Little did they know, it was the first and last meeting between the Thunderbird and the young boy. Once it departed, the lad picked up the feather it dropped.
Unfortunately, when Kapatcir finally returned, she didn't saw the young lad. What she saw was his blood filled the golden goblet on the sacrificial altar. Unbeknownst the Thunderbird, the lad himself considered his sacrifice as an offering for the good of the tribe. But she only saw it as a murder of an innocent. Driven to madness by the remorse of a promise unkept, The Thunderbird left the mountain in cinders. She razed the entire mountain with lightning, killing everyone in the tribe to avenge the boy. She left the mountain, but placed a curse on the land that would only be lifted when she could hear his song once more. As a storm god, Kapatcir was also extremely vengeful. Her grief and vengeance was so great that these residual emotions resulted in the creation of two Thunder Manifestations following her demise at the hands of the Raiden Shogun.
Back to present day, because of losing one of her general during the war between Watatsumi (Sasayuri) and the need of new manpower to guard inazuma, Baal decide to point a new right hand man. Takamine gained Baal's recognition thanks to a recommendation letter from his master, the great Yougu Tengu and became a Hatamoto, a high ranking samurai in the direct service of the shogun. Still, his hobby of unrestrained wanderlust had not changed. On the contrary, with the Tengu's great bow that he won over, he became yet more fearless.
One day, at a bright beautiful day Hibiki was talking with Kitsune Saiguu as usual. As the sky brightens, morning dew condenses and then disappears. As beautiful as this colorful scenery may be, it is still short-lived. Hibiki was no longer a young shrine maiden who had just arrived on Narukami from a small fishing village. She used to be duller than a teapot and had yet to lose the obstinate impulsiveness and curiosity of a child, she was always naively skeptical of the elegant but incomprehensible words of Lady Saiguu.
"Everything in the world is entangled. Hence, illusory visions were born out of concrete reality. The so-called omamori cannot make one's wishes come true at all, but they can make them eternal through this entanglement." said Hibiki.
The Lady Kitsune couldn't help but break into laughter upon seeing my clueless expression. She cheerfully knocked my head with her pipe and sneakily changed the subject.
"I suppose you've met your fated one as well, Hibiki?"
"What sort of 'fate' could there be with a rude and reckless brute like that!" answer Hibiki.
"Oh, is that so?" Tease Saiguu.
"But darkness engulfed everything in the end. That "fate," too, was no more." Said Hibiki with sad expression on her face. As for the man who taught her archery in the sacred forest and patiently shared their naive promise under the scarlet sakura boughs, that they will be together in the future, shall soon marry the daughter of a high-ranking samurai.
A faint smile that crossed the mouth of Lady Kitsune fascinated Hibiki, but her words were — and remain — incomprehensible:"Life is full of uncertainty. Love is fleeting, and even lasting memories may be lost. Losing one's memory is no different from losing one's life. It is like death amidst darkness eternal. Trying to hold on to a moment's beauty is like foolishly trying to grasp the morning dew. Like the morning dew, I have already passed away. All you have seen of me is but a residual vision, born of your wishes." said Saiguu. Hibiki kept silent.
"Aw, Hibiki, why the long face? How about this then? I, the Lady Saiguu, shall tell your fortune for you! Haha, see? See, it's "Great Fortune. Great Fortune! You know what that means?"
"It means you took away all the bad fortune slips." Continue Saiguu.
"Please stop mocking me, Lady Saiguu." said Hibiki.
"No... it means that the person you're missing will be lucky enough to become a part of your memories forever. That's why you have to be strong and must live on for a long, long time. Even if all the people you cherish are gone, as long as you are still alive, The time you spent with them will never perish..."
Saiguu kept saying some incomprehensible things. Her expression as sorrowful as the eighth month's moon, and suddenly she rapped Hibiki over the head with her tobacco pipe, wearing her usual expression of rebuke and mockery:
"Hibiki, the sun's about to rise. We should head back."
Several months after, Takamine who was Asase Hibiki's love interest, was married a high-ranking samurai's daughter after becoming the Raiden Shogun Baal's Hatamoto. He left mt Yougou and lived in Tenshukaku, a capital city of inazuma where the Raiden Shogun resides. In the Years under the Shogun, Takamine's martial skills improved greatly, and he made many friends and enemies, while Hibiki as part of Yougou three was still in mt. Yougou. The great Yougou Tengu, who used to kill all day for fun, had the motherly instinct inside her brought out just a little after she has gotten a daughter (yay, KUJOU SARA IS BORN). Several years has passed after their first met in mt. Yougou and the slain of orobashi & the thunderbird, they were older now. (Author note: Before watatsumi-narukami war, takamine and yougou three were still in their teens when they first met each other. Now, they were all adult and Takamine even start a family)
Kitsune Saiguu visit back her home in Hakushin land after finishing her cleansing ritual. Hakushin land is area around Mt. Yougou where Narukami shrine is located. When Saiguu chosen as Head priest, she moved inside the shrine and rarely left outside. When she devoted her life in Narukami shrine, Lady Yae was born. She was a cute little pink fox. Her early years were filled with stories and tales about Saiguu, and yae loved and respected her greatly. So, when Saiguu finally went home, Yae was really happy. Due to their closeness by blood (Yae and Saiguu are family), Lady Saiguu doted upon Lady Yae quite a bit.
In Hakushin land, Kitsune Saiguu took an interest in Yuurakusai's literary abilities and tastes in tea; as a result, Yuurakusai became famed as "one of the most cultured and sophisticated of all the kitsune" by the time Kamuna Harunosuke was born (One of Yougou Three). Unfortunately his reputation stained by a grief mistake. It is no longer clear how Yuurakusai angered Lady Saiguu back in the day, but it is known that his deeds may have had some connection to the later incursion of the Abyss. It's probably related to the book that she has released. Ancient time ago, in enkanomiya there are experimental records about Bathysmal Vishap (The ancient god or Dragonheir) and it is not to be used for the writing of diaries, love letters, or fantasy novels. But Yae’s publishing house somehow have this book. On Bathysmal Vishap Experimental Records, a book from enkanomiya, is written something like this: we may yet be proven narrow-minded for having dismissed that last person who wrote a fantastical tale about vishap-people.
Due to this, Saiguu banished him from Hakushin land and he moved into Tenshukaku and never been back to Hakushin land ever again. However, after Yuurakusai had been driven out, the Kitsune Saiguu would no longer dwell at the Grand Narukami Shrine nor Hakushin land, but would instead set up permanent residence at Tenshukaku, stay close to Raiden Shogun.
