[SEX SCANDAL] PROSTITUTION IN SOUTH KOREA ENTERTAINMENT

While a list of female celebrities allegedly involved in prostitution has been circulating, some of those named - including a number of K-pop singers - are vehemently protesting against the rumors in an unprecedented string of public statements. The list in question has the names of 10 female entertainers - including actresses, singers and trainees - and the fees they allegedly receive for engaging in prostitution.

The list began circulating after two brokers were arrested last month on charges of arranging prostitution deals between Korean female entertainers and clients abroad. Among the investigated were an unnamed member of a K-pop girl group and a well-known singer, who confessed to receiving some 35 million won (S$41,000) in return for providing sex to a Korean-American businessman.

6. Park Jung Yoon: Breaking the law regarding actions of prostitution (Prostitution)

However, upon admitting to her allegations and charges, female idol C claimed that she didn’t know what was going on and met the 45 year old man with good intent. Female idol C told during the interview that she had no idea what she was doing was considered as ‘prostitution’ and told Ilgan Sports that she was stupid at the time and she regrets her actions.
