Soulmate 2023 Korean movie remake ending story explain, kim dami

Basically the story of soulmate is about two best friend: haeun (jeon sonne) and miso (kim dami)

Haeun and miso are BF since they're children. Haeun is falling for Jinwoo. Jinwoo is secretly interested in miso's unpredictable antics, thus he ends up kissing miso in the cave.

The movies make Viewers think that Jinwoo and miso have affairs, haeun knows in secret because of jinwoo's necklace and miso tried to stay away because she likes him back but cherishes her friendship with haeun more.

It turns out what actually happened is miso never like jinwoo, she asked the necklace from Jinwoo because she just needed some luck + her unpredictable antics just made her ask for it. She doesn't want to destroy her friendship with Haeun Tho, so she is indeed staying away from the couple. Miso also doesn't tell Jinwoo's kiss her probably doesn't want to make haeun sad.(Really, the problem of this story comes from that wishy washy man).

Miso's life becomes so miserable (yet lying that she has an awesome life to haeun) So, on the trip and that dinner, it's like a cold war because both of them can't talk “the truth”, about what they're facing , their struggles and real feelings they have.

It seems distance, individual struggles and "life" makes their friendship strained. They fought and stopped keeping in touch for awhile.

Later, miso finally hits her low (her fiance hangs herself + loss all of her saving, probably doesn't have home to live) , thus ends up living with Jinwoo's apartment. I think Jinwoo use Miso's low point (fragile state) to be near her since he still has feelings for her.

Haeun saw them together, thinking they're cheating on her, but still acting nonchalant.

On haeun's point of view, she hates to think about her insecurity toward Jinwoo's infidelity and miso seems foreign toward her and closed (keep secret from her). On miso's point of view, she hates that Haeun still "acts innocent", doesn't confront her about what she is worried about (Jinwoo's case) and secretly envious about her bff's easy life. Both of them can't talk about their real feelings with each other like they used to.

They fight again, but reconciled since they love each other.

Jinwoo went to haeun and promised her that he would stop his interest towards miso and become a good boyfriend now and propose her. Haeun accepts it as she never thinks about what she wants, only living what other people want.

When Jinwoo said that drawing is just a hobby and shouldn't be for living, he began to realize something. On the wedding day, when she saw her own sad face, she realized she didn't feel happy living her current life. Everything she has done is only following what other people expect for her. She left Jinwoo because she thought Jinwoo only loved her "fake" identity.

She ran away and finally started living freely like miso's younger self. Haeun is living what miso's younger life wanted to do, while miso, due to her life struggles, is becoming more like haeun's younger self. They have become best friends again, even with distance.

But haeun needs to die young at 27 like what miso's wishes for herself, due to giving birth. Miso ends up becoming the mother and lies to Jinwoo about what really happened to Haeun. Many people think that Haeun is still alive and currently living freely somewhere in the world. (But she has died)

All the blog that people think is written by haeun is actually written by miso. Actually haeun only able to finish half of the painting, miso complete it. She also create another new paintings in the name of her soulmate haeun. Many people aside the mother and miso think that haeun is living somewhere in the world traveling.

In the end, miso ends up living a double life. Living her own life and continuing haeun's Unfinished dream due to her sudden death.

It is a roller coaster movie, full of twist and a bitter sweet ending.
