"I became a trainee when I was 18 years old exactly 10 years ago from 2011 to 2012. I was really happy when I heard that I passed the auditions on my first try. I was really proud of myself. When I was asked to leave the group, all these unfortunate things happened at the same time. This was my dream, to become a singer. I could have gone to another agency, but I really liked this place. I was sad that I could no longer be in a group with my friends."

After he left BigHit, Jihoon explained that he went through a tough time as his mother had health issues alongside the struggles of adjusting back to normal life.
He keeps the secret that he once almost debuted under BTS due to BTS current poopularity, people might not even believe on him.
"Because they are super famous now, they are popular everywhere so I don’t really tell people about this. I blamed myself for not making it to the team, and at that very time, I got a phone call saying that my mom had collapsed. She had fainted because of the stress of me being cut from the team" said Kim Ji hoon.
Jihoon also no longer talks to his former BTS friend because of their success and busy schedules. They naturally drifted apart as they went on their separate paths in life, with Jihoon now being a government office intern and a YouTuber.
"I am now an intern at the Korea Veterans Health Service, and I’m just quietly working at an office. But I feel like this isn’t what I want from my life. I still can’t let go of my desire to be famous, so I started making YouTube videos."
At the same time, he has nothing but love and respect for the seven members. His biggest dream is to be able to reunite with them and his other fellow trainees from 2011 to 2012.
