10 CONFIRMED GAY & LESBIAN CELEBRITIES IDOL IN KOREA OR KPOP

Not only in South Korea, but nowadays more artist has come out from the closet and reveal their “real” sexual orientation after pretending to be straight for all of their life. In Japan, Japanese alternative idol Haku (of Tokyo Psychopath, a group whose members we often see in Harajuku) posted a handwritten letter (+ English) confirming she's a lesbian & talking about her experiences growing up gay in rural Japan & Tokyo.

Two members of the boyband D.I.P, Seungho and B.Nish, admitted to being a gay couple while doing a live on Instagram. The two even said they had been dating for years. Two years after their debut, the two left D.I.P in 2018.

In South Korea Former Wassup member Jiae shared how she feels about her making headlines in Korea for revealing her girlfriend. She also expressed how no company wanted to support her because of her sexuality and that's why she started the project.

She also shared: Jiae wrote, "It's an utterly personal issue so I wonder why dating someone, either man or woman, is such big news..I do understand where this is coming from but at the same time, it's still surprising. Thank you for giving me more attention than when I debuted.. I want to stay like this making music in the future and I've wanted to sing in an unbiased world, so if you'd like I'd love to make music under an unbiased label. Please DM me if you'd be interested. The female solo singer Magoply shortly after debuting in 2007 confessed openly that she was a lesbian. Shortly after this statement, Magoply, whose real name is Maman, was removed from his agency, Jerry Entertainment.

On July 14, to be exact – High School Rapper 3 star Aquinas also revealed that he is bisexual. Like Jiae, he too chose to come out on Instagram, posting a stylised rainbow flag with the words “I’m bisexual” in English and Korean. Kang Min Soo previously appeared as a contestant on Mnet's 'School Rapper' season 3 back in 2019, garnering attention for his musical talent. Back in May, Aquinas released his newest EP 'It Doesn't Matter', containing his title track of the same name.

In movie industry, Film director Kim Jo Gwang Soo married his gay partner who is 19 years younger than him, Kim Seung Hwan, in September 2013. For the sake of getting recognition, they married in public regardless of the demonstration that had been carried out by several people.

Hong Seok Chun is arguably the first Korean celebrity to admit that he is gay. When he revealed his orientation, it cost him greatly. He shared that his family disowned him, his agency didn’t support him anymore due to many business prospects canceled his job contract and prejudice he received from society is a lot. Yet, he survived and after 5 years, he is back to his career track. (After almost losing it).

Trot singer Kwon Do Woon has confessed to being gay on his 20th anniversary celebration. He also recently admitted that he had a girlfriend he met at a gay bar. The star spoke candidly about her sexual orientation to mark the 10th anniversary of the debut of trot, her Korean pop genre. He became the first major male celebrity in his country to admit to being gay in two decades.
In the early 2000s, there was a popular boy band called K'Pop. Shortly after their careers, they suddenly disbanded. The reason is surprising. So there are two K'Pop members who are dating (until now it is unknown who the two members are). One of these gay couples had an affair with another boygroup member which made him abused by his lover. Because of this incident K'Pop decided to disband.

In an ultra-conservative society, not only being gay, but actually singing about it, is an incredibly audacious and disobedient act, and meant that none of the big record labels would pick him up. The 22-year-old, who made his K-pop debut only this year, is openly gay idol in South Korea
Som Hein surprised fans with his sensational confession. Unmitigated, the former "Idol School" contestant revealed that she was bisexual. She also showed off his new girlfriend who turned out to be a woman to the public.

Som Hein seems to really want to share her personal experience shamelessly with everyone. On Thursday (7/11) she also did not hesitate to share intimate photos with her lover through the Instagram page. In the photo, Som Hein is seen being hugged by her lover.
