A woman in her twenties is claiming to have taken drugs with a famous rapper.

Drug issues is not something new in Korean music industry. Previously, a 35-year-old male rapper surnamed Kim, a former member of a hip hop group, is currently being investigated for allegations of using, possessing, purchasing, and selling new synthetic drugs. Accordingly, Kim received drugs from a gang member operating in Daejeon. In addition, he was also taught by a drug organization in Vietnam how to produce synthetic drugs. Since then, this rapper has been manufacturing and distributing drugs from smuggled undiluted liquid.

One of the example is a former BtoB member Jung Il-hoon. He was still an active member of the group when he was caught using marijuana last year, and was on Thursday (June 10) sentenced to two years in prison and fined 133 million won (US$120,000). Jung Il-hoon, the main rapper of K-pop boy band BtoB, was charged with consuming marijuana in July 2020, as first disclosed to the public by Channel A in December that year.

According to reports by KBS on January 29, a woman in her twenties ran out of a hotel in the early morning and claimed to have taken drugs with a famous rapper. A police report stated, "A woman came running towards me and asked me to save her life." The accused rapper is alleged to be a famous rapper who appeared on a hip hop program.

The woman reportedly told police, "At a nearby hotel, a man and I put brown powder (thought to be hemp) into a hookah and inhaled it. Afterwards, I ran away because I was afraid of abnormal reactions, such as my heart beating too fast." However, the man involved denied taking drugs, saying, "The woman said that because she was too drunk."

The woman's simple drug test came out negative, but police have requested a thorough examination from the National Forensic Service.
