All Nogizaka46 member generation scandal and accident

Nogizaka46 is the most popular jpop female idols group in 2006-2023 with less or minimal scandals. Yet, it isn't completely Free of scandal, even if you compare it with akb48, the sister group, nogizaka46 will look like angel. (Let's have a short summary of akb48 scandal: an affair with a married man, a date with huge age gaps and her own teacher, sex with johnny's jr male idols, sex with a lot of man (sex maniac sasshi), bullying between members, popular member fighting against each other and post online insult toward each other, member sharing other member scandal to paparazzi, member group bullying to one member even plan to rape the member with her group of friend, etc)

1. Yamato rina 1st gen member was drinking underage and spotted by bunshun. Since the member isn't popular enough, the agency later order her to resign due to break Japanese law.

2. Matsumura sayuri 1st gen blind date with a married man who turns out to be a magazine editor, young jump. Nogizaka 46 was able to proudly proclaim itself as a scandal-free idol group, until recently, when it was discovered that member Matsumura Sayuri was openly engaged in an affair with a married man. Bunshun give several paparazzi photos of the couple kissing on their date even take a recording audio and video. Wakatsuki, her teammate member of nogizaka is really angry toward the cheating man as she said that he has approached Sayuri (ringo) knowing well that she is an idol. Matsumura sayuri later with the help of her teammates apologized to fans in a radio show, accompanied with ikoma (nogizaka pushed center), the captain reika and her best friend shiraishi mai (nogizaka ace). Matsumura sayuri explained to fans that she met this one man online and hanging out together due to similar hobbies and interests such as anime. She used a fake name and identity. Later, due to work stress, she is drinking too much and while drunk she did some unforgivable mistakes. Keep in mind, there is unwritten rule that love / dating is banned for idols, so no matter the excuses, she has done a great mistake. An audio recording that posted by bunshun later supported some of Sayuri's claim. (The drinking, the fake name use but it's shown that the man knows her as entertainer during the date, the talk about anime) It is alleged that Sayurin was not aware that the man she was seeing had a wife and children. Despite this claim, she admitted that she had the affair, and showed repentance on several occasions.

The issue is so big that nogizaka as a whole needs to take blow and kicked out from kohaku uta gassen attendee list. Members and fans are split with various opinion. Nishino nanase the ace of group said that she is angry towards Sayuri's reckless behavior. While shiraishi mai shown her utmost support toward her friend and regretted that sayuri didn't come to her for help earlier. Since then matsumura sayuri has shown a great regret and turn her action to be more responsible and active in variety to pay her debt toward group. There is not much punishment the agency give to Sayuri except pushing her to 3rd line for several single. (But still in senbatsu) Many fans expressed their dissatisfaction toward the leniency, but it's probably due to Shiraishi's interference. The fans even jokingly said that the agency is confident to keep sayuri in the group because they still have shiraishi. Her popularity is always high compare to other members, her reputation and star power is #1 toward all female entertainers categories, she is crowned as the Commercial queen having booked 18 CF in a year. Nanase is only able to rank at #4. (#2 only for idols) Ikuta erika #6 (#3 only for idol) and saito Asuka later joined this ranking.

This scandal did not bring down nogizaka for too long tho, the two sun (shiraishi mai and nanase nishino) are able to take this huge scandal as an opportunity (bad publicity is still a publication) to make the group more well known. It isn't easy to change the society's prejudices due to Sayuri's affair, but they've succeeded. Later in few years, sayuri expressed her gratitude for trusting her toward shiraishi on a letter for shiraishi graduation. Well, it isn't a secret that this duo is best friend since debut. (Just like reika x wakatsuki who is bff since high school, even before debut)

3. Wakatsuki 1st gen is dating before debut, her old purikura/photos with pass boyfriend was published in internet. The photos is hot topic because the kissing and hugging, No punishment from agency since it's an old photos. Zukki (mizuki yamashita) 3rd gen ace member also having the similar scandal, altho her photos is more mild. (No kissing or hugging, just a photo of cute date with other handsome male student)

4. Kanagawa saya 4th gen date with male idols from Johnny's jr although is still a rookie. She is later forced to graduate.

5. Nakanishi aruno is a 5th pushed center (a member that the agency promote heavily) but fallen from grace due to bad behavior in the pass. She posted insult to nogizaka member, calling the group member as ugly. Before debut as nogizaka member, she was also a gravure model, thus many fans expressed their worries that she can tarnish nogizaka46 image and the agency should choose more pure member as center instead of aruno. She is also working as girlfriend for hire before debut and post several racism remark to black people. Yet, the agency still decide to keep aruno in the group. She takes 3 weeks hiatus and then return back to the group, pushed back from center senbatsu to under girl. The agency saw a huge potential in Aruno that they make the fans decided themselves whether aruno can get back to being a senbatsu or not. It has been almost 2 years now, her handshake result and popularity is growing and it won't be a surprise if one day she gets back to senbatsu (frontline member). The agency decided to keep her because she hasn't broken any law and everything is all in the pass. Keep in mind that after accepted in nogizaka, she has shown and posted only positive remarks about her senpai/senior. One of her old post said that she is grateful she can debut under a group that is so supportive and the senior is all very kind.

6. Okamoto hina 5th gen post spoiler of group come back project to ex boyfriend, that the boyfriend sent to his friend and later upload it into instagram. Okamoto has broken the company rule, and not only that, she is also bully a member in the same gen with her. She posted an online insult toward her own nogizaka member. The agency make her on hiatus and later forced her to graduate early, even if she is just barely debut.

7. Hayashi runa 4th gen, mental unstable. The fans is worried for her mental stability since her left hand has a scar/mark looks like a suicide. She also post a problematic remark online (before debut) said that she auditioned in nogizaka46 to be able to meet her male idols, that she want to date male idols. This obviously stains nogizaka image as a group of elegant and talented young ladies. Later, she announced her graduation. Whether the agency forced her to do it or not is a mystery. Well, even without being forced since Runa isn't a popular member, the agency won't stop her if she wants to graduate early.

8. Seira whistle blower an abusive PD from nogizaka LLC. On a live radio show program she bravely mention a PD name and his bad behavior/harassment toward nogizaka members, especially the unpopular one. The abusive PD often yelled to the member angrily, insult and threaten to kill the member, saying you just need to die, you're replaceable, etc. She received a lot of support from the fans and the members in her generation. It turns out that the PD is famous for his bad behavior but people still use him because he is good in his work. Seira later announced her graduation and retirement in the entertainment industry (meaning she doesn't work anymore as entertainer), no wonder she is so brave to shout out loud the harassment. The PD is later forced to resign.
