BTS and KPOP GROUP ACHIEVEMENT IN BILLBOARD

Kpop has become global this pass years, as many Kpop group become known outside South Korea or even outside Asia. The pioneer of this generation is no other than BTS, which has just made history on more than one Billboard chart!

According to an article published on April, BTS’s long-running hit “Dynamite” came in at No. 30 on Billboard’s Hot 100 (its weekly ranking of the most popular songs in the United States across all genres). This is a huge achievement for any Asian Singer.

As the achievement marks the song’s 32nd week on the chart, BTS has now officially broken PSY’s record for the longest-charting song by a Korean artist on the Hot 100. The previous record of 31 weeks, set by PSY’s legendary 2012 hit “Gangnam Style” back in 2013, remained unbeaten for seven years.

Meanwhile, IU’s new studio album “LILAC” debuted at No. 9 on this week’s chart, while SuperM’s first full-length album “Super One” and TXT’s Japanese album “Still Dreaming” stayed strong at No. 11 and No. 13 respectively.

Another act from South Korea, BLACKPINK’s first full-length album “THE ALBUM” held onto its spot at No. 3 in its 26th week on the chart, and NCT’s “RESONANCE Pt. 1” similarly maintained its position at No. 4 in its 25th week. YG who has focus their girl group to international market might be proud with this  achievement.

Back to “Dynamite,” which became the first song by a Korean artist ever to top the Hot 100 back in August 2020, has never dropped below the Top 50 since its release. “Dynamite” spent its 18th non-consecutive week at No. 1—officially breaking the record of 17 weeks set by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s smash hit “Despacito” (featuring Ju

This is yet another proof that shown BTS landed an impressive total of seven albums in the top 15. The group topped this week’s chart with their latest album “BE,” which remained No. 1 in its 19th week on the chart. BTS also claimed No. 2 with “Map of the Soul: 7,” No. 5 with “Love Yourself: Her,” No. 6 with “Love Yourself: Tear,” No. 7 with “Love Yourself: Answer,” No. 10 with “Map of the Soul: Persona,” and No. 12 with “Skool Luv Affair.”

Looking back to their counterpart, EXO’s Baekhyun’s new solo mini album “Bambi” entered the chart at No. 15 this week.

Congratulations to all of the artists!
