IDOLS MEMBER of BOYGROUP SEXUAL ASSAULT HIS MEMBER, SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR 2.6 YEARS

A former idol, on trial for sexually assaulting a fellow member, received a suspended prison sentence. It has been revealed that a former male idol who was found guilty of sexually assaulting a fellow group member recently starred in a movie. Due to this, The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism conducts biannual surgery of the conditions of the pop culture industry but no investigation of sex crimes and abuse of power was included. The Ministry said that it will conduct a survey on sex crimes starting this year.

For charges of ‘coercion and assault similar to rape’ the unnamed man received 2 years and 6 months in prison, suspended for 3 years, plus 30 hours of sexual assault education. This 3rd gen boy group member will be leaving the group and the company because of sexual assault in January 2023 rumor news. On the rumor, it said that the group had lots of fans in the past ,now with time it went down. On the 29 Mar the prosecution asked the court for a three year sentence, disclosure of the idol’s identity, entry into a sexual violence treatment program, and 5 year employment ban.

Later on 3 Apr, There is a news that an idol of a 6 member boy group was handed over to prosecution on charges of molestation and rape of a fellow member during their trainee days and following debut. Member A is accused of touching victim B at least three times from 2017 to 2021 in the dorms and practice rooms.

Member A is said to have admitted to most of the charges and said that at the time he was too drunk to remember (his actions). The victim reported the assaults to the Gangnam Police in 2021. Member A was indicted on charges in January. Member A left team after the incident. The agency of the group was contacted and said that they were checking the facts and would respond later. There are many problems with the agency structure for trainees as it is not an educational institution or a youth shelter, it does not have reporting obligations.

According to Seoul Shinmun, a news outlet reported on May 30 that a film starring the former idol had recently been released. "A movie starring Idol A(25), who was sentenced to prison for forced abuse, was recently released in theaters". According to the report, fans, who were unaware of the crime, wrote supportive messages and shared the news of the film's release to raise awareness. The identity of the idol has not been revealed to the public.

Seoul Shinmun also spoke with the CEO of the idol group. In the report, the CEO responded to the scandal, "As soon as I learned about the situation, I separated them. We also provide therapy and sexual education for our artists. We do our best to protect the victims. We tried to cancel the contract with the perpetrators, but we couldn't." contacted him for months. Korean netizen accused one of boy group as the suspect. Following this news, 8D will be taking legal action against those spreading false rumours and information regarding OnlyOneOf. 8D Entertainment state OnlyOneOf is not the group involved in a current report of a sexual assault within a boy group.

Many international fans also accuses that ROCKY from astro is probably the suspect. Rocky, who’s a member of the K-pop group ASTRO, announced he is leaving his exclusive contract with the agency Fantagio and leaving the group after seven years in February 2023. Previously, his teammate, Moonbin died due to suicide.

Other idols that is also suspected is Hui from Pentagon. In other rumor, Knets speculates it's DKZ, or dongkiz. Munik is leaving the K-pop group after being on hiatus for a while. Before Munik's departure, another member, Wondae, left the K-pop group after being on hiatus in 2022. Park Jae chan is participating on a movie before.

Keep in mind, ALL OF THE RUMOR is still speculative name from netizen about the issues. There is NOT YET OFFICIAL statement regarding the real suspect.
