IDOLS WHO GET HIATUS DUE TO HEALTH ISSUE
Idols, especially the popular one always have busy schedules. From preparing the next come back to participating in event and many variety show, sometimes all the hectic schedule might hurt the idol's health in the long run. It isn't rare to see some of the idols to hurt themselves or even need to take a short hiatus to recover from it. Here are several accident that lead some idols to take hiatus due to health issues. Celebrities can have all the money in the world but that doesn't mean they're exempt from health problems like heart disease.
1. Felix Straykids.
JYP Entertainment announced that Felix was diagnosed with intervertebral disk herniation. On the other hand, Stray Kids’ upcoming fan meeting is scheduled for February 12 and 13 at the Olympic Hall in Seoul, with the second night simultaneously being live streamed through Naver’s Beyond Live. But Jyp shared that Felix’s performance might be limited during certain stages at Stray Kids’ upcoming fan meeting ‘SKZ’S CHOCOLATE FACTORY’, in order to comply with the doctors’ recommendation to avoid strenuous activities during treatment.
While there is no effect on his everyday activities, as doctors have recommended that he avoid postures and activities that pressure his waist, Felix will be avoiding any strenuous activities while receiving treatment for prompt recovery. JYP Entertainment reassure STAYs that Felix can continue to do everyday activities. Felix will be participating in stage performances after doctors confirm that his back has fully recovered. JYPE will provide our utmost to support the artist’s recovery. JYP then apologized to the fans and ask the fans understanding.
2. Brave Girl Minyoung
On January 14, Brave Entertainment stated, "Minyoung was treated by a professional doctor due to her sudden poor condition. According to the doctor's opinion, she needs sufficient rest and absolute stability along with treatment, and the artist herself decided to focus on treatment and rest for the time being. The agency also shared that Minyoung will be on hiatus due to health issues.
3. Weki Meki’s Choi Yoojung
Choi Yoojung has had a number of health issues since her trainee days. One of her most recurring health concerns include joint pain as well as frequently catching colds. Weki Meki used to be promoting with only seven members, until Choi Yoojung's health has recovered. With time, her joint problem got worse, due to which she went on hiatus a few times. The pain became so unbearable for her that she needed to get medical injections for it.
4. Seventeen Wonwoo
In 2016, Wonwoo was diagnosed with acute gastritis, which is a sudden inflammation of the lining of the stomach. Due to his health condition then, he took a break from promotions in order to recover and focus on getting better. The agency revealed that Wonwoo is still recovering and will not be joining in some broadcast promotions later due to concerns for his health.
5. V from BTS
Last summer, V or Kim Taehyung revealed in a comment on a fan’s post on BTS’s Weverse community that he suffers from cholinergic urticaria, a type of skin rash in the form of itchy red bumps that appear whenever there is a rise in body temperature. This makes all activities that generate body heat quite inconvenient. It's triggered by things that make the performer's body temperature rise. The affliction is most commonly found in young adults.
6. Yeji from itzy
Yeji shared up about her terrifying health-related experience she went through as a child because of a mere cold. Because she suffers from atopy, or the genetic tendency to develop allergic diseases. Yeji’s cold had worsened into pneumonia before it later developed into a case of osteomyelitis and sepsis. She also revealed that her state had been nearly fatal hadn’t the doctors prescribed the proper antibiotics to treat her symptoms.
7. Solji EXID
Solji who majored in Applied Music at Dong-ah Institute of Media and Arts was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in 2016, which made her go on a long hiatus in order to look after her health. This condition occurs when the thyroid gland produces too much of the hormone thyroxine, which can result in accelerated body metabolism, weight loss, and heart rhythm problems. Luckily, in 2018 Solji shared the good news of fully recovering from her illness. Due to Solji's remaining health issues, the group's comeback was delayed.
8. Jongyeon Twice
Jeongyeon, a member of K-pop girl group TWICE, is going on another hiatus due to health issues since when she took a pause last October. ... "Jeongyeon is currently experiencing symptoms of panic attack and psychological anxiety disorder," the agency said in a statement. The label explained that after discussions with Jeongyeon and the other members of the group, it had been decided that she would not be taking part in the Seoul leg of TWICE's 4th WORLD TOUR 'III'.
