IDOLS WHO GET ADDED INTO THE GROUP JUST RIGHT BEFORE DEBUT

We might heard so many story about an idols with their long trainee years, looking and waiting to debut. Some of the trainee even train for as long as 11 years until they finally able to debut. Although many are not that lucky and given up their dreams to debut as idols. Here are several luck trainee who get added just right before the debut, because the company or agency think that they're a good addition for the group and something that the group needed. Surprisingly, most of them take a center or key position, as their talents are spotted on, whether it's about their vocal or visual. Here are several trainee who debut shortly after.

1. LOONA Olivia Hye (1 DAY) and YVES (3 WEEKS)

The rising girl group LOONA is composed of skillful members only, but it is still a shock to K-pop enthusiasts to know that Yves only trained for three weeks, which is less than a month only! And what more surprising too, the other member of the group, Olivia Hye entirely skipped the training period! The female idol was the last member to join the team, and she confessed on a broadcast that after training for a day, she debuted right away! Currently, Olivia holds the title for the shortest training period a K-pop idol had before its debut.

2. PURPLE KISS Swan

PURPLE KISS debuted not long ago with their album "INTO VIOLET" and title track 'Ponzona'.

They are currently the best selling rookie girl group who debuted in 2020 and 2021 as it was reported that they had sold a total of 12,405 copies of their debut album in the first week. What is interesting that one of the youngest member, SWAN is actually added to the group by RBW later. She is also the only one who had debuted when she is a teenager. No wonder, since she has awesome vocal color and singing skill that makes the song of the group more powerful.

3. KARA Jiyoung (2 WEEKS)

After training for two weeks under DSP Entertainment, Jiyoung was selected to become a new girl group DSP has been forming. Later on, she debuted in KARA.

4. GIRLS DAY YURA (1 month)

Kim Ah-young, better known by her stage name Yura, is a South Korean singer and actress. She is best known as a member of the South Korean girl group Girl's Day. She is surprisingly able to debut only with training time under 1 month

5. NCT SHOTARO & CHENLE (2 MONTHS)

In 2018, SM Entertainment introduced the NCT Dream, a sub-unit of NCT, which comprises young members. Chenle then surprised K-pop fans when it was revealed that he only trained for two months! In particular, the Chinese-born K-pop idol was popular in China before debut after joining “China Got Talent,” and his musical experience is one reason he became one of Dream’s main vocalist.

6. EXO Baekhyun (4 months) & Chen (4 months)

EXO is a mega project from SM entertainment. It's crucial of course to get amazing vocal for the group who can sing and bring the group in the next level. No wonder that both of this trainee has similarity in talents, because both of them are exo main vocalist. Their addition definitely impact Exo as not only a visual group, but also a great singer. The SM Entertainment agency team met Baek Hyun in 2011 when Baek Hyun was a student at the Seoul Institute of the Arts. After that he did a training period for 4 months before debuting with EXO.

Not only talented as an actress, and able to acting naturally, it seems Eunji was chosen by the agency because her amazing vocal. She debut later as one of the main vocalist of APINK and also visual. Eunji tried to do an audition after being recommended by her vocal teacher and she passed. The management said that they were very impressed with Eunji's abilities. He finally underwent a training period in just 2 months and managed to become the main vocal position in the girl group Apink.

The former member of Wonder Girl, Yeeun, didn’t have a training period as after appearance in the reality show “MTV Wonder Girls,” J.Y. Park chose her as the final member of the debut team immediately! She did not experience a training period, because Ye Eun successfully passed JYP Entertainment's audition for the selection of Wonder Girls members. Finally Yeeun was able to join the team and debuted right away. However, Ye Eun chose to go solo under her new name, HA: TFELT.
