KPOP IDOLS WHO USED TO BE A PART TIME WORKER
Not many idols are born from silver spoon, although the big 3 is house of the rich in Kpop entertainment industry, eg Tzuyu, Tao, Siwon, Sooyoung, CL, and more, but many idols from smaller agency often come from more humble background. After all, maybe one of the reason that many young Korean citizen want to be an idols is a dream to be rich, at least rich enough compare to office worker in staff level position. Before appearing as an Idols, it takes a lot of cost for training time, as well as their preparation, thus make them having side job or part time job to pay the cost. Here are several Kpop idols who used to be a part timer before they succeed to become an idols:
1.Pentagon's Shinwon
During EXO's promotions for "Wolf" and "Growl", SM Entertainment not only launched the collaboration fashion brand, but also hosted various events including the opening of a 'BWCW' cafe. When the 'BWCW' cafe opened up, one particularly handsome part-time server became rather famous among fans. Many netizens fondly recalled, "I remember going to the 'BWCW' cafe with my friend kekekeke. My friend was so sad when the cafe closed because she couldn't see the part-time server anymore!" or "Of course every EXO-L knows about that legendary part-time server... Honestly there were so many fans who wanted him to debut in SM..." Years later, the famous part-time server who was the crush of numerous EXO-Ls has debuted as an idol himself. Previously, Cube Entertainment revealed on October 24 that during a Naver V app, Shinwon had complained of pain in his knee, after which he was quickly taken to a nearby hospital for a checkup. He has been recovered and active again in the group.
2. IM SIWAN ZE:A
Prior to debuting with ZE:A, he majored in mechanical engineering at Busan University. He also worked as a private tutor, helping students with English, mathematics, and physics. Siwan is known as the ideal representative when talking about a perfect sons. Not only he can sing well, since elementary school, he was the class president and always received top grades.
3. IZONE EUNBI
If you remember some time ago, Kpopmap wrote an article on one Paris Baguette outlet helped to promote IZ*ONE's Kwon EunBi when she was still a participant of Mnet "Produce 48". We found out later that Eunbi indeed used to be a part timer on that store. She often visit back to the store for nostalgic feeling.
4. CHOA AOA
After failing her audition to join an agency when she was 20, Choa was promoted to saleswoman of IPTV bundled products, where she recorded good sales, even reaching #1 out of all employees. With her saving that she got from her payment, about ₩5 million KRW ($4,418 USD), she trained so hard and ended up joining FNC Entertainment and AOA.
5. VIXX KEN
Ken worked part-time at the hamburger chain Loteria for 9 months. When he guested on The Capable Ones, a variety show, he was flustered when hamburgers came out on set but quickly gathered his composure to reveal that he knew exactly which hamburgers came from Loteria.
