[RUMOR] DISPUTE BETWEEN AGENCIES AND AWARD SHOW
On November 30 at the Gocheok Sky Dome, the Melon Music Awards 2019 (MMA 2019) awarded some of the brightest stars in Korean music over the past year. There is some news here and there about some dispute between an award show and big Korean agency that hosted a lot of big names and popular Kpop idols group.
Many people are accused whether SM and probably YG tried to pressure some broadcasting companies, not to air Melon Music Award on National TV (Broadcast by KBS/MBC/SBS) since they didn't like the outcome of the awards. Some Army around the world talk about this and while BTS performance is trending #2 in korea, this rumor might be true after all.
Some big entertainment agencies boycott Melon Music award (MMA) because they won't get any awards, so they give pressure to broadcast companies, that's why MMA couldn't air on the TV.
Keep in mind that it's just ALL rumor and nothing has been confirmed. I believe this rumor will died soon, yet the fact that MMA isn't broadcast on TV, is the only fact here. It isn't the first time Award show has been fighting with another agency, Look at Mnet Music Award (Mama) during the years, there is a time when all YG artists didn't attend that show and there is a time when all SM ent artist didn't attend that show where YG is finally there.
The reason why this rumor came forward, because BTS take a lot awards this year. BTS swept all four Daesangs (grand prizes) of the night with Artist of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year with “Map of the Soul: Persona,” and Song of the Year with “Boy With Luv.”
