It isn't a secret anymore that when idols debut, they start with a huge debt, especially from smaller agency. And with how saturated the industry are currently, with an average 5 new groups debuted every month, it is not a surprise that many of ex- and current KPOP group members tried to do
1. Mad town H.O
After Mad town disbanded, he start to be a jockey of Afreeca Tv to get some cash. In one of his video, he revealed a not so shocking reality as KPOP idols.
Agencies charge the debuting group for everything from music production, video production, album production to clothing and dining costs. It costs a minimum 500 million KRW to produce a group. If there are seven members, each member would owe around $70,000 as soon as they debut. The members will start profiting only after the debt has been paid off.
Music programs on TV don’t pay much. That’s only for exposure. Outside performances, concerts, overseas stages, and album sales are what brings in money. But it is very hard to pay off $500K with those. If a group doesn’t become too popular, the members end up sitting on a pile of debt.

The same as H.O, he began as youtuber after his group unfortunately disbanded.
3. MBLAQ GO
After came out officially in relationship with his girlfriend Choi Yeseul, he plan not to go back as idols since he has doubt for this industry, thus make a career as streamer VJ on Afreeca TV.
