THE WITCH 2 IS ON FINAL PRODUCTION, PLAN TO RELEASE THIS YEAR 2021
The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion” is a 2018 mystery action film about a questionable accident that leaves numerous dead. The film tells the story that begins as a mysterious figure approaches high school student Ja Yoon (Kim Da Mi), who has lived a normal life without remembering the past after escaping alone the night of the accident.
Although Warner Bros. Korea was initially in charge of the investment and distribution of “The Witch 2,” the company withdrew from the Korean film business, bringing uncertainty to production plans. Afterwards, NEW’s content production business subsidiary STUDIO&NEW signed an equity investment contract with director Park Hoon Jung’s film company, and NEW will be in charge of the investment and distribution of “The Witch 2.” Originally, director Park began preparing for the sequel in August, but the production was almost canceled when Warner Bros. Korea decided to withdraw its Korean film business. However, earlier this month the Korean Film Council announced the movie will be produced in partnership with film production company Next Entertainment World.
Although many loyal fans of The witch might be a bit disappointed with the news that their favorite main character from the witch 1, actress Kim dami, wouldn't be the main heroine on this new part, and only come for cameo, but people are glad that another competent actress being chosen for the new important role. Lee Jong Suk who also just release from army will Make Special Appearance In “The Witch” Sequel. With his recent new look, a long hair and black long suit, many fans speculate that he will play a strong character. All the filming of the sequel is reported to be finish by now and they're on the editing process. The production team plan to release the sequel within this year, possibly on November or December 2021. Many people are eager and can't wait to know the story of the witch.
