6 POPULAR KPOP IDOLS and ACTOR WHO WILL GO TO ARMY THIS YEAR 2020

Every healthy male Korean citizen need to participate in his military duty and enlist before he went to 30 years old. Many people choose to go early or some go late. Following his discharge from the military on April 7, BTOB’s Eunkwang participated in an interview with TV Report and talked about his future plans. He began the interview saying, “I was safely and healthily discharged thanks to Melody (BTOB’s fan club) who waited for me and supported me, and I’m very grateful.”

Eunkwang enlisted in the military back in August 2018 as an active duty soldier, and he proved to be an exemplary soldier by serving in the special forces after being assigned to Special Warfare Command. During his service, Eunkwang was also commended for his philanthropic actions of donating 20 million won (approximately $16,340) to relieve those affected by Gangwon Province wildfires of 2019, the same amount to the Korean Heart Foundation, and 10 million won (approximately $8,170) to the Korean Insulin Dependent Diabetes Association.

1. YOOK SUNGJAE of BTOB
BtoB just get their leader back, yet it seems it's now the turn of their maknae to enlist. A source from Cube Entertainment confirmed to News1 that Yook Sungjae would be enlisting as an active-duty soldier on May 11 and that the time and location of his enlistment would not be made public.

His heart warming letters:

Hello, this is Sungjae. First, thank you very, very much to all the Melodies who celebrated my birthday! (I saw all the social media posts, advertisements, and events!)

I didn’t know how to begin saying this so I thought about it for a long time. But since I was too far from any deep thoughts or concerns, I decided that the right thing was to tell you as soon as possible.

You will be very surprised, but I have decided to enlist in the military on May 11!

There will be people who are surprised at this sudden information, as well as people who are concerned, but because of how much love I’ve received until now from Melodies, I have the confidence that I will receive love and be happy and healthy no matter where I am! Because of the continuous enlistment of the BTOB members, there will inevitably be a hiatus, but since Melodies are waiting for us, we will gain strength in thinking of the day we will meet again. 2. EXO SUHO, THE LEADER
On May 4, Suho took to EXO’s official online fan community space in Lysn, and shared a handwritten letter announcing his enlistment. This makes Suho the third member of EXO to enlist in the military after Xiumin and D.O. A source from SM Entertainment confirmed the news and stated, “Suho will be enlisting on May 14. The time and location of his enlistment will not be disclosed.”

3. YANG SEJONG ACTOR
On April 30, it was reported that Yang Se Jong had received his military enlistment date. A source from his agency Good People confirmed the news and said, “Yang Se Jong will be enlisting on May 12 as an active duty soldier.”

4. Hyunsik BTOB
Hyunsik BTOB will serve in the army together with Sungjae. Cube Entertainment's representative said, Hyunsik will serve as an active soldier after he completes his basic military education. In addition, Hyunsik and Sungjae will register the military secretly and are reluctant to tell the location and time of registration. Sungjae and Hyunsik were recorded as the fourth and fifth BTOB members who served in the military.

Now, only the remaining BTOB member who hasn't been serving in the military is rapper Ilhoon . Meanwhile, Peniel who isn't South Korean nationality can be free with this enlistment.

5. Jinho PENTAGON
PENTAGON's oldest member, Jinho, has announced that he is ready to go to the military. Cube Entertainment Agency explained, Jinho will register as an active soldier on May 11. Through his agency, Junho will also enlist in the military secretly without announcing the time and location of his registration.

6. U KWON from BLOCKB
U-Kwon became the fourth member of Block B who would undergo military service after Jaehyo, Taeil, and B-Bomb. "U-Kwon will enlist in the military on May 18. He plans to fulfill his duty as an active soldier after undergoing basic training," explained the agency.
