Lets talk what make X1 and IZONE ends up in different situation

X1, group debuted from produce x 101, is reportedly supposed to be filming their new MV in November and have a plan to make a come back around December2019. But the agency, Swing entertainment, delayed X1 comeback until February2020, due to Mnet produce 101 vote rigging scandal that has proven as true. Ahn PD, as the main culprit has been arrested, and several CEO and entertainment agency staff has been questioned. If everything went smooth, details of the X1 album should have been released this January. Also, X1 should have started their first ever tour in April. But, the reality isn't like that. It's far from that. Today, on 6 January 2020, after several hours of discussion between members, respected agency official and CJ ENM, all of them make official statement and decision to disband x1 for good. At least, that's what they think.

So, X1, who supposedly have 5 years long ass contract, will be disbanded prior to 5 months after debut, without any comeback song. Although their achievement in this short time, having sold 500.000 albums to date are a huge deal for rookies.

Han Gyul and Dohyon from the same agency, MBK entertainment, has posted their video apology on MBK official account. Han Gyul talked about his time on the idol survival program “PRODUCE X 101”, “During my time on the program, I learnt a lot, gathered a lot of experience, met a lot of great people, and was really happy. I will also never forget the love that all of you have given me.”

Do Hyon talked about how he will never forget about the experience he has gained and happy times he had during their promotion.

Yet, wizone in the other hands are getting good news, as izone are reported to make a come back soon, that CJ ENM happily announced that representative agencies and them are positively engaging in discussions about resuming IZ*ONE schedule.

So what makes the difference?

1. Izone has debuted first and the members has promoted more than 1 year already, releasing a lot of materials and songs. X1 only debut just recently about 5 months and only able to release 1 debut song. Bonding takes time, and with all the sweat and tears that izone member has experienced together, for practicing the new choreography and remembering the song, it's natural that each izone members prefers to stay as izone. Especially if we talk about contract. All 12 izone members have signed a contract with CJ ENM after 6 months, just like any other produce 101 group. Usually, any produce 101 group will debut, promote and having schedule without a contract up to 6 months. It takes time to validate each different agencies. So X1 didn't have time to sing any contract yet, they aren't bound under CJ ENM. Also we need to take notes about the fact that before the official disbandment news, if you re-read back to rumor around November 2019, there is blind item that told like this: Some x1 members wish to exit the group. There is no further details or any kind of hints about who is the possible members are, but people begin to speculate. And this make another point 2.

2. Before we continue, keep in mind that I don't say that izone bond is better than x1, but it's just about the timing, izone timing is better than x1, thus one group have already signed a contract, one is not.... Okay, back to topic. Izone is composed of twelve members: Jang Won-young, Sakura Miyawaki, Jo Yu-ri, Choi Ye-na, Ahn Yu-jin, Nako Yabuki, Kwon Eun-bi, Kang Hye-won, Hitomi Honda, Kim Chae-won, Kim Min-ju and Lee Chae-yeon. While x1 is composed of 11 members: Kim Yo-han, Kim Woo-seok, Han Seung-woo, Song Hyeong-jun, Cho Seung-youn, Son Dong-pyo, Lee Han-gyul, Nam Do-hyon, Cha Jun-ho, Kang Min-hee and Lee Eun-sang.

In Izone, only sakura and nako are already have debuted. Hitomi is still a nobody in AKB48. But Sakura and nako decided to join produce 48 themselves, not because of their agency. It's different for x1. In X1, there is already 3 members who have their own group, especially wooseok and Seungwoo. Wooseok already debut with UP10TION in 2015, along with Jinhyuk, who is supposedly debut in X1 if the vote rigged didn't happened. Honestly, it's natural if Wooseok is more close with his UP10TION members compare to x1 members. The agency TOP Media also might want to use the opportunity to re-branding UP10TION and promote their own group, instead giving one of their ace for another group (x1). Keep in mind that before joining produce x 101, Kim Woo Seok (Wooshin) and Lee Jin Hyuk (Wei) are appearing on "Produce X 101" to gain more interest for UP10TION. The length of contract for the final debut members of produce X 101 hasn't been revealed yet. Some agencies are shocked when they know that the contract would be 5 years, and some even rumored has complained to CJ ENM. Their original plan might be to waste 1-1.5 years for regaining popularity back. It's the same case with VICTON members. Choi Byung Chan and leader Han Seung Woo are competing on produce x 101 for the same reason, who debuted under PLAN A entertainment in 2016.

Anyway it's what TOP Media respond to media for x1 disbandment news : yes, it’s true. but we still have no plans for Wooseok’s future activities.

Probably, there is about 2 members (or agency) of x1 who wish to exit the group. It is mnet fault by releasing the length of contract later, and make it too long just like a permanent group. If it's only 2.5 years, probably members and agency might think to continue this project (x1 as temporary group) Remember, the purpose of produce 101 is to create a temporary group for small agencies to promote their own talents, opportunities against big one competition. Not to create a permanent group. (in general the length of a kpop idols contract is 7 years after jyj case)

3. It's hard for X1 to keep promoting with remaining members who choose to stay in x1 with the support of their respective agencies. X1 already has lost 2 of their aces. Seungwoo and Wooseok, especially wooseok who is rumored to be the real "center" of x1. It has indirectly revealed that 3 members of x1, supposedly didn't include on final list, if the vote rigged didn't happen. And yes, people speculate again. They assume it's from starship agency, none other than kang minhee. While the other one might be cha junho. (KEEP IN MIND, It's speculation/rumor). So if all this true, it would be hard to continue, because the members would feel burdened and scared that some day the fact (or real ranking) will release to public. This members might get bashed. Of course the agency didn't want that, because they're valuable assets (talents) for them. So they prefer not to continue. And honestly starship has already 4 promising members to create their own new kpop boy group, none other than ham wonjin, Goo jungmo, Kang minhee and Song hyeon jun. (all participated in produce x 101 and get popularity there). As for MBK entertainment (T-ARA company), well you know how shitty they are as an agency. Many idols has bad mouthed their ex agency, MBK entertainment. I won't surprised if MBK opt to reject X1 continuation, as MBK might want to use their talents (Hangyul and Dohyon) for their own gain without sharing to other. With this we only have several X1 members and agency without motive to disband the group. Lets see.... only 4 : DSP Dongpyo, Kim yohan from OUI entertainment, BNM eunsang and Seungyeon (currently on Yueha). While cha junho agency might be in the middle (due to afraid of the real ranking revealed)

4. IZONE is a project between Korea and Japan. With Akip management involvement in CJES entertainment, many agency from izone members are obedience with the term/contract, because they got opportunity to have "special pass" in Japan entertainment. IZONE has created a lot of record in Japan, as the first KPOP group to appear in many Japanese show on national tv despite the dispute between Korea and Japan (Thanks to AKIP power). Japanese promotion tends to generate money, so no KPOP agency will refuse it. And the contract of izone is pretty short, it's only 1 year left and counting, so why bother to disband izone now. Especially when izone already have comeback preparation ready.
