KOREAN MOVIE OR DRAMA THAT GOT ADAPTED TO HOLLYWOOD

The popularity of Korean films and dramas cannot be denied anymore. Always bringing new things, stories that are sometimes unthinkable, twist plots that are displayed are also interesting, cinematography that is displayed is not even half measures.

No wonder that Korean films and dramas have a lot of fans. Even in Indonesia there are also many fans of Korean films and dramas, because little by little Korean films have aired in Indonesian cinemas.

1. Old boy
The 2003 Oldboy film from Korea was remake of the same title in America in 2013. The American version of Oldboy (2013) was played by Josh Bolin and Elizabeth Olsen. As for the film Oldboy (2003) starring Choi Min Sik, Kang Hye Jung, Yo Ji Tae and many other players. Until one day he was suddenly released. Assisted by a girl named Mi-Do, Oh Dae Su also plans to avenge himself while looking for reasons why he was imprisoned.

2. Good Doctor
In the American version, the series stars Freddie Highmore. Not only in America, Japan also adapted this Korean drama. With the same title, Good Doctor, this Japanese TV series starring Yamazaki Kento and aired in 2018.

Miss Granny tells the story of a 74 year old grandmother who lives with her child and son-in-law. One day, because he had been ill and was advised to live apart from his son and his son decided to send him to a nursing home, he was very sad and walked alone. Suddenly he found a mysterious photo studio and after finishing the photo he was young again at the age of 20 years. This Korean film is very much adapted by other countries such as the Philippines, Vietnam, India and even our own country, Indonesia, with various titles.

4. Sassy Girl
There are many versions even from Korea itself. This legendary film that aired in 2001 starred Jun Ji Hyun and Cha Tae Hyun. For another version there is an American country with the same title, My Sassy Girl, starring Elisha Cutbert and Jesse Bradfort in 2008.
The film tells the story of Gyeon-Woo (Cha Tae Hyun) who meets a drunk girl (Jun Ji Hyun) on the train. The girl suddenly collapsed right after she said love for Gyeon Woo and made the people on the train think that Gyeon Woo was her girlfriend.

5. Sunny
Sunny's film itself is about the friendship of 7 teenagers during high school who called themselves a gang. This friendship does not last long because there is a problem and causes them to stay away from each other.

This phenomenal Korean film of 2011 was adapted into one of the Indonesian films titled Free. This free film has just aired 2019 yesterday, directed by Riri Riza and starring Marsha Timothy, Baim Wong, Indy Barends and many more because the players are really very many.

7. The Whispering Corridor
Until one day it was discovered that one of the teachers had died and the school was trying to cover it up. Not long after, one by one, both students and teachers died and there was terror in the school. Indonesia is again adapting films from Korea, this time the choice falls on The Whispering Corridor. The film aired in Korea in 1998. It tells of mysterious killings at a school for girls in Korea which is known for being very disciplined and strict in educating students.
