IZ*ONE and X1 will resume activities as planned, comeback on Jan & Feb 2020
"CJ ENM says they will support everything regarding resuming of activities. A press conference is being held now at CJ’s headquarters in Seoul. CEO of CJ ENM already clarified and make official statement regarding the counter measure of vote rigging scandal that happened in MNET Popular survival show, Produce 101. About 30 billion won (US$25.9 million) profits from Mnet's audition shows, including the Produce series and other competition show, will go towards a fund designed project to support the K-pop industry. CJ also plan to give compensation, such as support for future music career for the victims of the vote-rigging scandal of the Produce series. Earnings from the Produce series will be shared by CJ ENM and music labels with contract.
The firm explain that the fund would be based on their own profits only, and not those of the artists (which means x1 and izone members). Regarding the specific plans of the fund operation, they will be announced once the details are finalized. They realize that the final debut group aren't the suspect / criminal for this matter and only one of the victim. In 2020, Mnet would not create any new audition show and focus only on the art and improving the music genre. A Viewer Committee, including individuals such as external content experts, will be installed, and the production processes of programs will be transparent. In addition, the internal broadcasting code of ethics will be renewed, and training on this will be intensified. CJ won't reveal names of the victims; it's not fair to them to have to suffer more then they already have.
CJ ENM’s head of communication Shin Yoon Yong also highlight said,“It is most important that harm is not given to trainees who have no fault in this incident. Revealing their rankings regardless of their opinions would not help compensate the damages of the victims. Even if they are discovered in the investigation process, revealing them could cause further harm, so we do not plan on revealing them.” CJ ENM will not reveal the victims name and real result ranking even as the investigation develops further. When asked what the plan is if eliminated trainees wish to join IZ*ONE or X1, he responded, “This is not a matter for us to decide but what should be agreed upon with the agencies. CJ ENM says agencies largely agreed that Iz*One and X1 should resume their career as they are. The company added the decision comes given the burden on the shoulders of the singers as well as fans who are waiting for them to return.
For izone since they're already under contract and have filmed their comeback song, Bloom*iz, they will soon make a comeback in early 2020. Regarding X1, CJ told that, “We are still under discussion with the members and agencies. The resulting plan has not been confirmed yet. We are working on an agreement with adequate consideration of the opinions of the members and agencies. We will share an announcement once it is confirmed.”
There is a lot of rumor regarding the resume activities from x1 and izone after almost 2 months of hiatus. The make up artist solenly work for IZone has posted a job vacancy to fill man power because a group would make a comeback (there is no izone name mention, but people are already speculating). In other news, the van are seen leaving Swing agency and Off the record agency, respectively both for x1 and izone. The body guard and manager are seen in work again.
