Is IVEE the top girl group right now?

The month of September for Korean music industry is a special battle field especially for girl group. Just around the corner, a new debuted girl group under hybe just made their debut, new jeans. While getting a lot of recognition and winning awards left and right, with no surprise of receiving another "rookies monster" title, the music program might not lack performer. 

One by one legendary girl group from second generation idols such as 2NE1 and SNSD (Girls generation) has made their long awaited come back. Although SNSD might not win any award, but their fans are already contempt with their latest achievement. 

"We're no longer need the recognition anymore, they have done that years ago, they don't need to win any award to proof their worth. If SNSD win an award, it will be just another additional trophy from our long lists." said one of the fans.

Yet it is not the case for the new generation girl groups, they need that trophy and win to validate their existence. In general, many group both boys or girls who couldn't get any win or trophy from music program more than 3 years will got disbanded by their agency.

So winning a music program is crucial for rookies. So who is actually taking the top spot in Girl group fierce battle in 2022? 

It is no other than IVE. People can't deny their luxurious image even from a smaller agency like starship. IVE might become their top priority after all this achievements and lot of endorsements.

They have validated their position by winning the competition against their big senior, such as twice and blackpink who made a comeback in similar timeline.

Looking back into IVE generation, compare to their peers such as Kep1er, Le sserafim or NMIX, their most powerful rival yet, IVE has stolen the start and proof what they're capable more. They achieved more success in the short time than any of their competition.

While new jeans can be a serious threat for IVE, I think Le sserafim is the only contender that can challenge IVE popularity. The reason is simple, 2 of the members comes from the same previous group, IZONE. They're also have similar age threshold. (New jeans is more for younger viewers and uncle fans, not female adult audiences). But losing one center member like Garam due to bullying scandal give Le sserafim a huge blow, and they need to recover from it with their new comeback. Because right now, they're losing.
