ACTRESS KANG SOO YEON PASSES AWAY AFTER BEING UNCONCIOUS

When your heart stops pumping blood, your brain is starved of oxygen. This causes you to fall unconscious and stop breathing. This is called as a cardiac arrest, it is medical condition when your heart suddenly stops pumping blood around your body. This condition can be so sudden yet often happens and take away a lot of people life.

The 55-year-old actress was rushed to the hospital after being found unconscious with cardiac arrest at her residence in Gangnam, Seoul on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at around 5:48 p.m. South Korean time. After receiving CPR, she was taken to a nearby hospital and is currently receiving treatment, but has yet to regain consciousness. It is also reported that earlier, Kang Soo Yeon had called emergency services because of a headache. The cause of headache is still not be found but it seems a symptom of more serious health condition. After being examined by a doctor, Kang Soo Yeon was declared to have a brain hemorrhage. "Actress Kang Su Yeon is currently receiving treatment at the hospital for a brain hemorrhage," said a representative from Kang Su Yeon's side on Friday, May 6, 2022.

Kang Soo-yeon is a Korean actress who has starred in a number of dramas and films. This 1966-born actress started her career as a child actress in 1969. She appeared in various movies, such as “3 Stars,” “Hanji,” and “Jury,” and she won an award for her performance in “The Surrogate Woman” and “Come Come Come Upward.” Kang Soo Yeon was promoting without an agency and recently wrapped up filming for the upcoming Netflix film “JUNG_E.” Kang Soo Yeon has also appeared in works such as The Road to Racetrack (1991), Blue in You (1993), and Rainbow Trout (2000). From 2015 to 2017, he also served as executive director of the Busan International Film Festival.

Kang Soo Yeon is scheduled to undergo emergency surgery soon after being admitted to the hospital. It is known that the operation will be decided upon after monitoring his condition. Yesterday, Kim Dong Ho said that Kang Soo Yeon was immediately transferred from the emergency room to the intensive care unit on the same day. "He hasn't regained consciousness, and the family doesn't seem to be able to decide whether to undergo surgery or not," said Kim Dong Ho.

On May 7 at 3 p.m. KST, the actress took her last breath in the presence of her family at Gangnam Severance Hospital. She is currently laid to rest at Samsung Medical Center, and her funeral will take place on May 11.

Representatives from the film industry will soon organize a funeral committee chaired by Kim Dong Ho, the former chairman of the board of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).
