KPOP GROUP THAT IS DISBANDED DUE TO COVID-19
Not only a boy group but also girl group, there is several Kpop group who debut in this pandemic. Debuting a group is something that definitely requires preparation, from the condition of the members to the promotion or economic strategy. Yet, they don't receive much interest from public or generate any hype that makes them unable to continue their journey in Korean entertainment industry. The KPop industry itself has also experienced bad impacts on various sectors so that there are groups that do not last long. As we know that one of the idols group income is festival or live performances, yet with how this going, it is impossible for them to appear in a festival. Due to this, they are no longer have any budget to sustain their running cost and eventually disband. Here are the list!
1. Moonlight Girls
They had previously dropped a pre-debut track called ‘Go Go Up‘. They were set to make their debut in April. However, it appears that due to unfortunate events like COVID-19, they have to say goodbye. They thanked fans for their support.
2. HINAPIA
HINAPIA (acronym for HI New Amazing UtoPIA; 희나피아) is a girl group under OSR Entertainment. Having appeared on Produce 101 while still a trainee under Pledis Entertainment, these 4 members from HINAPIA once debuted as the girl group of PRISTIN. On November 3, 2019, HINAPIA debuted with 1 new member of PRISTIN. However, they disbanded and officially terminated the contract on August 21, 2020.
BECZ (비커즈) was a five-member boy group under H&H Entertainment. They officially debuted on March 13, 2020 with their only digital single "Into U". This group has 5 members, but unfortunately they had to disband 6 months later. The company agency was affected by the pandemic so it could not continue. One of its member, H, He debuted as a soloist on October 19, 2017 with a digital single “두살만” under KINGDOM.
4. ANS
Having released two singles, namely "Boom Boom" and "Say My Name", ANS disbanded on August 21, 2020. They have 8 members and many of them agreed to terminate contracts for several reasons and one of them is a pandemic.
5. Trei
TREI (TRiNiTiOPUS)(트레이) is a 3-member group under Banana Culture. The members consist of: Jaejun, Changhyun, and Juntae. With 3 members, Trei made his debut on February 9, 2020. In less than a year, each member decided to disband and leave the agency in June. The company itself allowed Trei to leave because of the pandemic conditions which made them also bad at managing the group.
