1. JOSEON SURVIVAL, Kang Ji Hwan
Kang Ji Hwan is actually a veteran actor who has played many male lead for several popular K drama.When a scandal broke out about this successful actor, many people are surprised as he has a good image all along. Kang Ji Hwan was arrested on charges of sexual assault and sentenced to two years in prison. Prevoiusly, Actor Kang Ji-hwan, who was apprehended by police July 9 after authorities were informed that two women were sexually assaulted at the actor's residence, has confessed to all the charges through a statement. The statement, which was released through his lawyers began, "This is Kang Ji Hwan’s law firm HwaHyun. We are conveying Kang Ji Hwan’s official statement." It stated: "This is Kang Ji Hwan. I admit to all charges and I bow my head and sincerely apologize to the victims that I have hurt greatly with my irreparable wrongdoing. I want to also apologize to everyone that I have concerned because of this. I will accept punishment for my crimes and make atonement. I apologize profusely. Signed, Kang Ji Hwan.". The victims are no other Kang Jihwan's junior that an aspiring actress and trainee in the same agency. They were staff members from his entertainment company who were invited over to drink after a company dinner.On July 16, the broadcasting network TV Chosun revealed, “'Joseon Survival,' which was planned for 20 episodes, will be shortened by four episodes. The production company for Joseon Survival, Huayi Brothers Entertainment stated that actor Seo Ji Seok will replace Kang Ji Hwan in the ongoing drama, Joseon Survival. Kang Ji Hwan had stepped down from the series on July 11th. Joseon Survival will take a two-week break to reorganize matters.
2. THE TIME, Kim Jung hyun
On August 26, his agency O& Entertainment revealed, “Actor Kim Jung Hyun is inevitably leaving due to health problems. Until now, Kim Jung Hyun has filmed while simultaneously receiving treatment as he had strong determination to not cause trouble for the drama. 4. RIVER WHERE THE MOON RISE, Jisoo
Ji Soo plays the male lead On Dal, a peace-loving person who also protects the Princess. Jisoo actually was a rising actor who get his first time lead role before previously working numerous role as second lead. It seems his pass has tainted his career as rumors about the actor were recently spread from three anonymous sources, claiming that Ji-Soo verbally and physically abused them in highschool. Apparently he was known as a ‘delinquent’ and a ‘king’ who roamed around their school. An official statement from production team told the press: “Ji Soo, who has recently become the center of controversy, will be stepping down from ‘River Where the Moon Rises,'” they stated. “We are in currently in discussions with the production company about our next steps.”
Na In Woo’s agency Cube Entertainment confirmed that the “Mr. Queen” star is in talks to take over Ji Soo’s role. A representative of the agency stated, “Na In Woo has received an offer to join ‘River Where the Moon Rises’ in the role of On Dal, and he is currently reviewing the offer.” After it was revealed in the morning that the actor was in talks for the drama, the production team has now confirmed, “Na In Woo has been cast for the role of On Dal.” The change will take place at episode 9 forward. Na In Woo replaced Ji Soo following Ji Soo's bullying scandal. According to the report, KBS announced that they have already completed filming 95 per cent of their episodes. Thus, re-filming the River Where The Moon Rises' latest episodes would be no easy task. The need to re-shoot the remaining River Where The Moon Rises' episodes would mean the production company to suffer enormous economic losses and to pay the actors would also be difficult.
On March 8, 2021, actor Lee Ji Hoon, Choi Yu Hwa, alongside Wang Bit Na and Ki Eun Se announced that they would not be asking for the payment for River Where The Moon Rises episode’s re-shooting. KBS filed a lawsuit against actor Jisoo's agency to demand compensation for the damages incurred by the actor stepping down mid-production after he was found to have bullied his peers during his middle and high school years. According to drama production company Victory Contents, it has filed for compensation of 3 billion won ($2.6 million) from Jisoo's agency Keyeast to recoup the cost of finding a new lead actor and other related damages. The actor himself are currently serving on Army, enlisted after the scandal arise.
5. TAXI DRIVER, APRIL Naeun
Just like actor Jisoo who is alleged of bullying, April naeun also accuse as a bully for her own group member, April. APRIL's Lee Naeun will be replaced in Model Taxi and her scenes are confirmed to undergo a reshoot and edit with a new actress. Naeun who has already filmed 60% of the drama, will be replaced by a new actress, who will re-shoot all the parts featuring her. A drama official revealed that they have canceled the filming of the promotional video and have changed the filming date to March 5 with just two of the main characters. Previously, she has steadily building her career in acting industry by appearing from web drama to a TV drama. This scandal even not only end her career, but also get a lot of cancellation for her endorsement deal.
