REAL REASON WHY IZONE WON'T GET CONTRACT EXTENSION
Although many fans or wizone are cheated by Mnet or CJENM and get a "WRONG HOPEFUL THINKING" that Izone might get contract extension, but here is the truth: IZONE will disband like what is planned 2.5 years ago, officially in April 2021. And here is the reason why:
1. There is rumor that MNET or CJENM are currently in bad term with STARSHIP Entertainment.
Although being denied and given an excuse from Mnet, but it is a public secret that there is on going dispute between MNET and STARSHIP. The reason is obvious, after all it's so fishy that almost all STARSHIP groups didn't appear on MNET anymore since early 2021. On March 30, WJSN announced on their official social media channels that the group was scheduled to perform on Mnet’s “M Countdown” on April 1. However, the post was deleted six hours after it was uploaded. “M Countdown” also removed their original preview clip for the upcoming episode and uploaded a new one without WJSN in the performer lineup. This led to speculations that Mnet and Starship were on bad terms with each other.
Newsen shares that Mnet’s statement does not explain why other Starship artists, like Jeong Sewoon and CRAVITY, also did not appear on “M Countdown” during their promotions even though they appeared on all other music shows. Some speculate that Mnet and Starship may have been on bad terms ever since MONSTA X turned down Mnet’s offer for a spot on “Kingdom: Legendary War.” This also has something to do with IZ*ONE (Yujin & Wonyoung) contract in IZONE. As rumor said that Starship was one of the companies who refused to extend their contract, along with YUEHUA, and 8D CREATIVE.
2. Probably, There is also a dispute between MNET with other individual member's agency.
We already know and proven that MNET Produce 101 is rigged. Had Lee Gaeun and Han Chowon not been the victims of Produce 48's vote fraud, both were set to make it into IZ*ONE's lineup. Due to this scandal, the eighth individual sentenced in Jail. The individual who was recently indicted in the “Produce 101” series manipulation controversy according to Yonhap News are:
Around US Entertainment’s Kim, PD Ahn Joon Young, PD Lee, CP (chief producer) Kim Yong Bum, two Starship Entertainment executives Kim, former Woollim Entertainment employee Lee, and former 8D Creative employee Ryu. According to Yonhap News, the agency representatives provided bribes worth between 10 million won (approximately $8,400) and 50 million won (approximately $42,000). It is not a rocket science that the reason why agency who denied the contract are from them.
3. Sakura might already signed under BIG HIT entertainment
One day after the official disband statement, A rumor that BIG HIT tried to sign a contract with One of IZONE members, SAkura Miyawaki arise. It seems that it’s true, after all Big hit didn’t deny it just like any other rumor that turn out to be true later. There is no string attached when MNET already give official statement about IZONE disbandment, so why Sakura reject this huge offer that might help her career as idols. I mean, BIG HIT or HYBE is a huge agency in Korea Entertainment industry, the home of BTS, TXT, Seventeen, Gfriend and more. They are the TOP 3! Not anyone can get an offering from the TOP 3.
4. It's RELATIVELY more profitable for agency to have their talents/trainee back for themselves than giving it to MNET/CJENM as IZONE Members.
According to the report, Ong Seong Wu brought in a total of 7.308 billion won (about $6.45 million) in profits from 2018 to 2020, while Cha Eun Woo brought in a total of 6.458 billion won (about $5.7 million). The fact that ASTRO, Ong Seong Wu, and ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo were Fantagio TOP 3 highest earners, is something right? Not to forget that Kim Sejeong, Somi, Chungha and Daniel are profitable as individual that give their agency a "huge pocket money". If the fame and popularity that build under 1-2 years can last this long, how much that each individual members of IZONE (Frankly speaking, the top 5 most popular members) can bring to their agency?
Keep in mind, as an entertainment agency, they should prove themselves that they're capable to marketing their own idols/talents themselves. They should be the one to create something (album, movie, drama, brand, etc) and maintaining it, so the investor would convince to invest on the agency. If they only able to "rent" their talents and not debuting their group themselves and make it big, do you think that it will be good for the agency reputation? Look at SM, JYP, YG or BIG HIT! They're known, famous and become this big, because they're successfully debut, maintain and create their own group to be super big. As Big hit known from BTS, SM from TVXQ, SNSD or EXO and JYP for TWICE.
