Sometimes, people decide not to work under anyone and try to be on their own stand. In another occasion, their misfortune and circumstances pushed them to change. Here are several amazing individual who successfully create their own agency and stop being just an employee under any entertainment company. Not only sheltering themselves, these several agencies are also a 'home' for their fellow professions. 1. Lee Jong Suk- A-MAN Project
Lee Jong Suk might came from a smaller company, yet he is able to bring himself to the top of Kdrama industry, starting from the bottom (side characters/Web drama). He has changed agency several times. Last, Actor Lee Jong Suk decided to leave YG Entertainment in 2018. He collaborated with YNK Entertainment to build his own agency called A-MAN Project.
"Together with A-MAN, the management agency that Lee Jong Suk recently formed, we will be in charge of the actor's domestic activities," YNK said at the time. However, the cooperation that was built ended in September 2018. Now the artist in the 30-year-old actor's agency has increased. Actress and former member of Hello Venus, Kwon Nara joined the agency in May 2019.
2. Winner Nam TaeHyun
The ex member of Winner from YG, left his group due to disharmony and bad blood with his members. On April 11, Nam Tae Hyun made the below post to Instagram, sharing a photo of the paperwork for his new agency. The paperwork shows the agency South Buyers Club was established on March 30, 2017 and names Nam Tae Hyun as the head.Nam Tae Hyun plans to promote his new band through the label.
Though he's received offers to sign with existing agencies, he's decided to "set up a personal label because he wants to promote as he'd like. Nam Tae Hyun recently created a band. He plans to produce music as the band's center."
3. Cha Tae Hyun - Blossom Entertainment
The actor who has his own agency is Cha Tae Hyun. The father of three children formed Blossom Entertainment in 2012 with his manager. Who doesn't know about him? His career as an actor and variety show host is huge. We know that the agency plays an important role in their careers in the South Korean entertainment industry. Armed with the experience gained during a career in the entertainment world, some of these celebrities have finally formed their own agencies.
Until now, Blossom Entertainment is home to several popular South Korean actors, such as Song Joong Ki, Park Bo Gum, Lim Ju Hwan, and Go Chan Suk. In addition, this agency is also known to do charity work.
4. Jay Park - AOMG
Jay Park with Simon Dominic founded AOMG in 2013. This agency and record label is one of the most popular in the Korean Hip Hop world. AOMG launched a hip hop audition program titled 'Sign Here'.
AOMG has supervised several well-known rappers and hip hop musicians from Ginseng Country such as Gray, Loco, Ugly Duck, ELO, Hoody, DJ Pumpkin, DJ Wegun and Woo Won Jae.
5. PSY - P Nation
Singer PSY decided to form his own agency as well after leaving his old agency, YG Entertainment. On January 24, 2019 he inaugurated his agency, named P Nation. After successfully came back and make huge name for their Hit song: Gangnam Style, he became more confident than ever to start his own company. It only took some time until several musicians decided to join P Nation and follow Psy lead. Like the female singer and rapper, Jessi, who joined at the end of January. Then there was Hyuna and her lover, Hyojong who joined in a few days after. Looking back at his artists list, it seems he like the free spirited singers/idols than the "standard idols".
6. Hyun Bin - VAST Entertainment
"Hyun Bin has teamed up with his CEO mentor, Kang Kun Taek and founded an agency called VAST Entertainment. Hyun Bin will be in charge of the agency and will focus on looking for potential trainees," said an affiliate of Hyun Bin in 2016.
The star of the drama series 'Memories of Alhambra', Hyun Bin, also formed his own agency in 2016. Reporting from Soompi, the actor who was born September 25, 1982 will focus on looking for prospective trainees and be in charge of the agency.
Looking at the appearance of the agency website, currently VAST Entertainment has overseen several actors and actresses. Some of them are Kim Yun Jee, Shin Do Hyun, and Lee Jae Wook.
7. IKON BI
Well, he didn't create his own company, but he is appointed as director, which is awesome too! Due to his drugs scandal that blown up, YG decide to one sidedly kicked him up from his group and stole his artwork. IOK Company confirmed that former iKON member B.I was appointed as an executive director of the agency.
IOK Company is home to celebrities including Jo In Sung, Go Hyun Jung, Lee Young Ja, Kim Sook, Jang Yoon Jung, Moon Hee Jun, and more. On September 28, it was announced via the company’s website that they had appointed six new executive directors, with B.I as the youngest among them, and two new non-executive directors.
