As one of the most popular webtoon on line, True Beauty tells a story about love triangle between two handsome guy who is bestie which began in April 2018. It follows Jugyeong Lim, a girl who uses her talent for makeup to improve her looks. In high school, she befriends Suho Lee and Seojun Han, two boys with a past together.

True Beauty‘s webtoon artist, Yaongyi get a lot of compliments from fans for her beautiful look, just like the main heroine of the webtoon. Fans accuse that Jukyung might be actually the author in real life. Little did people know that Yaongyi is actually a mother already, with her slim figure and young looking, people are getting surprised by this fact. It is revealed that she had been once divorced, many fans were curious as to if she had any children during her marriage. On this opportunity, Yaongyi also shared her adorable photos with her son.

Yaongyi (야옹이, literally "Meow"; born April 24, 1991 [age 29]) is a South Korean comic artist (manhwaga), former model, and creator of True Beauty on LINE Webtoon.

Yaongyi shared, “I have a toddler that is more precious than my life. He is an existence that I have protected more so than my own life and will continue to do so.” She touchingly continued, “The child that has not been away from myself for even a moment, has now somehow become an elementary school student. He is my motivation and the most precious thing I have and I will protect him forever. It is because of his existence that I gain strength daily even when I’m tired.”

Yaongyi revealed that although she has been raising him alone, she will continue to do so and work harder in life.

On the pressure of having a popular webtoon as the original work to the drama, Lee Si Eun, the author of True beauty drama version expressed, “There is bound to be a clear reason why the original webtoon is receiving so much love. I’ll take the compliments to mean that the drama was just as good as the original, but not better, since the webtoon and the drama are of different genres.” She further explained that she put a lot of thought into keeping the charm of the webtoon alive while also adding on a richer story to match the format of a drama that has 60-minute-long episodes.
