[BREAKING] TWO KOREAN CELEBRITIES DIE TODAY, POSSIBLY SUICIDE

 During this pandemic that led a great reccession where people felt hopeless and striving to survive, entertainment industry might be one of industry that got struggle the most. Unfortunately when we hold captivated with our activities and movement, 

Rapper Iron, whose real name is Jung Hun-cheol, has died at age 29.  Many people might know a little about him as his name comes and go in any news portal in Korea, since he has so many crimes. Jung first found fame as a semifinalist in Series 3 of Mnet’s “Show Me the Money” in 2014. In 2015, he was found guilty of using marijuana and was sentenced to eight months in prison, also suspended for two years. 

His cause of death is unknown. No official reason for the cause of death has been revealed so far as law enforcement continues to investigate the rapper's death. According to police, a security guard found Jung in a garden area located inside an apartment complex in Jung District, central Seoul, on Monday.  Iron is no stranger to controversy. He was arrested last month for allegedly assaulting his 18-year-old roommate with a baseball bat at his home in the central Seoul ward of Yongsan. In 2018, Jung was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for two years and ordered to complete 80 hours of community service by the Seoul Central District Court in an appeals trial for assaulting and threatening his ex-girlfriend. The hip-hop artist was convicted of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. He allegedly hit her in the face during sex, causing fractures, and also strangled her when she tried to end the relationship. He supposedly also threatened to hurt himself and pin the blame on her. He was handed a sentence of eight months imprisonment, suspended for two years and 80 hours of community service over the September 2016 incident. In September, he was fined 5 million won ($4,600) for bribing a reporter to make false reports about his ex-girlfriend.  

According to police, Iron was found laying in a flowerbed outside an apartment complex by a security guard, in a pool of blood at approximately 10:25 a.m. before he was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead upon arrival.



Song Yoo-jung, a South Korean actress best known for TV series Golden Rainbow and web series Dear My Name, died in Seoul Saturday, Jan. 23. She was 26, and although no cause has been disclosed Song’s passing follows a series youthful deaths by suicide that have shaken the industry there. Her breakout role came in 2019 with the popular web series Dear My Name, in which she played an architecture student. Starring male lead B1A4's Gongchan, rookie actress Song Yoo Jung, and more, 'Dear My Name' tells the story of a universe where the name of one's destined partner is engraved on a person's body. Gongchan will be playing the role of Yoo Jae Ha, a popular hottie in the photography department who has no personal interest in love or relationships. Before entering the acting industry, Song started out as a model for a Korean cosmetics company.

On January 25, a source from her agency Sublime Artist Agency stated, “Song Yu Jung passed away on January 23.” The agency did not confirm reports about the cause of her death. In accordance with the wishes of her family, the funeral was held quietly, and the funeral procession takes place on January 25.

Song Yu Jung was a friend of ours who always gave us joy with her bright smile, and she was a wonderful actress who acted with heated passion.

The rash of deaths by suicide among young performers in South Korea has brought attention to the stress and pressure placed on up-and-coming stars, and the industry’s failure to address mental health issues. Since 2017, K-pop stars Kim Jong-hyun, Sulli and Goo Hara have died by suicide. All were in their 20s.
