Korean actor and Actress who left their dramas halfway during production

Well, for K drama lovers should familiar with the format of 16 episodes for one drama title. Yet, there is some circumstances when the main character got change due to personal issues and switch to another prospective actor/actress. This might happened due to a scandal or fight between the production team and the actor himself. In this occasion we will talk about several drama that got change:

1. Goo hye sun
Actress Ku Hye-sun has unexpectedly dropped out of MBC’s weekend drama “You Are Too Much” due to health issues and will be replaced by Jang Hee-jin, the network and the stars’ agencies said Friday. The actress was diagnosed with a severe case of anaphylaxis, a type of serious allergic reaction. MBC also said she played a “central role in the show,” but the team agreed to her departure given her need to focus on recovering. The vacant role will be filled in by actress Jang Hee-jin.

2. Kang Ji hwan
On July 10, Kang Ji Hwan was arrested on charges of assault. The next day, TV Chosun announced that they were looking for an actor to replace Kang Ji Hwan’s role as he will no longer be part of the drama.  Seo Ji Suk may be playing the main character of TV Chosun’s “Joseon Survival” Han Jung Rok, which was previously played by Kang Ji Hwan. Meanwhile, Kang Ji hwan has testify and admit his wrong doing as sex offender against his junior actress.

3. Go hyun jung
The actress was basically fired due to her altercation with the PD of the drama. Following SBS's statement that the actress would be leaving, a source from her agency, IOK Company released an official statement saying, Actress Go Hyun Jung has officially left SBS’s Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Return.’ All this time, Go Hyun Jung has filmed the drama with responsibility and affection. However, there was a difference of opinions with the directing team concerning the production process, and yet, even after trying to adjust this as much as possible, she couldn’t close the gap between them. Therefore, after much discussion and thought, she has decided that it will be difficult to continue filming. Rather than blaming someone, we have decided to accept SBS’s notice of departure due to the fact that it is only right that the person who is said to be the problem should leave for the sake of the drama. We apologize that Go Hyun Jung will not be able to fulfill her responsibility as the lead actress, and express apologies to the entire cast and crew of ‘Return.’ It was reported on February 7 that there had been a large fight on the set of “Return” between Go Hyun Jung and the producing director. The report has not been confirmed. With much thought, actress Park Jin Hee has been confirmed to take on the role of Choi Ja Hye, replacing Go Hyun Jung

4. Choi Jin Hyuk
His role isn't changed by other actor, instead the producer and script writer choose to kill his character due to his conflicting schedule. SBS’s “The Last Empress” has given us more twists and turns than we ever thought possible over the last few months, but the epically suspenseful drama has finally come to an end — and not a happy one for all of our characters. As it was previously reported, lead actor Choi Jin Hyuk was not present for the final episodes due to his extremely busy schedule and prior commitments and as a result his character was killed off. The story might be altered since Choi jin hyuk, one of the main heroine love interest can't appear till the final.

5. Han ye seul.
Korean actress Han Ye-seul will arrive at Incheon International Airport at 5 pm Wednesday after she left for the U.S. boycotting the shooting of KBS drama series “Myeong-wol the Spy.”

After Han ye seul suddenly went to Los Angeles skipping the shoot for the KBS drama series “Myung-wol the Spy” Sunday, KBS called her actions “absurd and irresponsible.” "Spy Myung-wol" officials stated that on the afternoon of the 15th, "We just found out through another actor that Han Ye-seul has left for abroad. Earlier Tuesday, the director of the KBS drama department Goh Yeong-tak said it was unlikely Han could return to the series unless she came back for the 12th episode, due to be aired Tuesday. Goh said because the drama was based on the script that had won the broadcaster’s drama script contest, it will not change the story but ask viewers’ understanding for changing the actress for the role of Han Myung-wol.

6. Oh Ji eun
On September 26, while filming for Blow Breeze, Oh Ji-eun ruptured the anterior ligament of her ankle, and was prescribed eight weeks of non-activity. MBC’s weekend drama Blow Breeze is currently undergoing some difficult times. The trouble is that they need to switch actresses for the second lead part, right in the middle of its run.  She tried to keep on working while receiving treatment at the hospital. However, she eventually could not continue when it became apparent that she needed surgery. According to her agency Mystic Entertainment, the drama’s second lead Oh Ji-eun (Make a Wish) is suffering from an ankle injury, and must regretfully bow out of Blow Breeze to focus on her recovery. Her last appearance in Blow Breeze was Episode 12, which aired this past Sunday, October 2.
