[Recommendation] WATCH the UNTAMED, Popular Chinese drama with lgbtq theme
The first ever wuxia with genre of boys love that got remake as live action in Chinese entertainment history, or even in Asia. The untamed tells story about adventures of two soulmate cultivators who travel to solve a series of murder mysteries, eventually finding and defeating the true culprit
After this amazing drama, both of the main lead actors got shipped hard and have a die hard fans of the two! Xiao zhan and wang yibo popularity are skyrocket nowadays, thanks to the successness of popular drama The untamed. The untamed is Chinese television series based on the BL xianxia novel Mo Dao Zu Shi by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. Actually, the manhwa is already very popular and got well received in mainland. , “The Untamed” had to be one of C-drama fans’ most feared and anticipated dramas at the same time. I mean it's the first time that a production house take "same sex love" as the theme on romance mythical drama. Even if you usually don't watch Chinese drama, many first time watcher can enjoying this drama and fell in love with the story. (The acting is also great!)
The untamed is tremendously popular at the moment. In fact it's so popular and trending so constantly, I've seen comments that fans should tone it down a little so that it wouldn't gain the attention of the government censors. Especially how its able to convey the WangXian elements though the series is a bromance. Many fujoshi put this drama into high ranking and shared this drama among friends. The most popular Chinese drama out and tends to trend on Weibo a lot, and both of the main leads are so breathtakingly beautiful and compliment a lot by fans. Their chemistry on screen are so adorable that make any fujoshi heart flatter.
While the CGI and general production value certainly could have been better and some aspects of the story were changed from the original web novel, the real life action of “The Untamed” turned out to be a captivating watch. While Wang Yibo might seem very inanimate at first with his dead gaze, it’s absolutely amazing to see him come alive as Lan Wangji grows closer to Wei Wuxian. Wang Yibo managed to convey Lan Wangji’s micro-expressions perfectly, to the point that you just can’t imagine anybody else in his place.

Xiao has became one of the most in demand endorsers following the success of The Untamed. His endorsements range from beverage and washing products, to jewelry and fashion magazines; with most of them breaking their previous sales record.
Wang Yibo who born i August 1997 is a Chinese actor and a member of South Korean-Chinese boyband UNIQ. Wang received recognition for his role as Lan Wangji in the drama The Untamed, along with Xiao Zhan. The series was so popular overseas, giving him global recognition. Wang entered the Forbes China Celebrity 100 list for the first time, ranking 71st. Forbes China also listed Wang under their 30 Under 30 Asia 2019 list which consisted of 30 influential people under 30 years old who have had a substantial effect in their fields.
Although Uniq might be disbanded it seems Wang YIbo career just becomes more bright. He used to work in a group together with X1 member, Choi Seungyeon.
