Seo Minwoo was a member of South Korean boy band 100% under the label of TOP Media, as the leader and vocalist. He debuted in in September 2012, in a company formed by one of the biggest names in the K-Pop world, Andy Shinwa.
With a big name like Shinwa and pre-debut appearance in Andy's promotion for his song "Single Man", Minwoo's 100% future initially looks bright. However, this turned out to be quite far from expected, since reality is so harsh. Even after several years of debuting, 100% still hasn't get their success or first ever musical win. On March 4, 2014, Seo enlisted in the military for his mandatory military service.[9] He enlisted as an active-duty soldier. Seo was discharged after 21 months, on December 4, 2015.
All this draw back made several 100% member tried their luck in a competition show by KBS, The unit's survival show, in November. The purpose of this event, is to provide a second chance for idols who have debuted but have not yet achieved optimal success. The method is quiet the same like produce 101, but not for rookies.
In thisshow, Minwoo 100% who is the leader of his group, had a chance to share their story and reasoning to participate in the show. Miwoo said: "Recently, it's the fifth anniversary of 100%. But apparently there are still many people who do not know about us. We realize that the happiest moment for us is when we perform together on the stage"
Even so, Minwoo 100% said he didn't want to give up, and decided to take part in the preliminaries in The Unit. Unfortunately, , the jury decided that Minwoo failed to qualify into the next round of The Unit. The only 100% member who managed to continue is only Rokhyun.
As reported previously, Minwoo died 100% on March 25, 2018 at the age of 33 years. "We are reluctantly telling everyone of this sudden sad news. 100% of Seo Minwoo's personnel left us on March 25. He was found at his home after a sudden cardiac arrest," said TOP Media spokesman, in his official statement.
100% Originally a seven-member boy group. Previously, Sanghoon took time off from the group since 2014, while Changbum departed from the group in 2016. And with news of the leader passing away due to cardiac arrest in 2018, currently, 100% is composed only with four-members: Rockhyun, Jonghwan, Chanyong and Hyukjin.
