REASONS WHY PEOPLE START TO STAN KPOP IDOLS

What do you think about Kpop? Do you know why Kpop becomes this big like today and might become bigger and bigger? Well let's discuss several things that make us like Kpop more than any other pop, especially compare to the western pop.

1. The Kpop idols appreciate the fans more than, let say, the western counterpart

Just looking for one case of Demi Lovato. She calls out her fans after they made a hashtag #WeLoveYouDemi to show support for the singer. Previously Demi Lovato is apologizing after some characterized her recent trip to Israel, during which she was baptized in the Jordan River, as a political statement. Since Demi receive some blacklash in media, her fans start to defend her. But instead feeling grateful, Demi just attack her fans.

“How about y’all stop making a hashtag saying you love me every time you realize your words affect me? Don’t worry guys you made me feel terrible about it and will continue.”

If we look at Kpop fandom, we often see how the idols have their own fandom name, eg: BTS with the army, Izone with wizone, SNSD with Zone, twice with once and more. The members always mention their fans name when receiving an award or get achievement. Congratulate the group achievement with their fans. Almost every K-pop group has a fan club with a special name by which fans refer to themselves, this create a bonding mechanism between the fans and idols, as well as, between one fans to each other (who is also a fan)

2. KPOP is much more Free/Cheap and available 24/7

If you're surfing around internet, you can actually download kpop songs more easily than western with all that copy right things. And not only that, sometimes we get a lot of free content from the agency or their official show/channel. Let say, we can watch a lot of their variety show with more freedom and without hussle nowadays. And when you follow a community, you get to know that after a live performance end, it's already available right away in youtube or download site with a HD quality. What you need to do is waiting for a couple minutes, and it's already available to download, how awesome is that? The fans also get relatively more update about their favorite idols movement, compare to the westerner. We got a new content (either a tv show or variety attendance) almost every day when our favorite idols do a comeback. We also get more than 2 comeback each year, not to say, for some case, we might get another version of comeback outside south korea (What I mean is Japan come back promotion)

3. Fans can interact directly with the idols (Somehow)

There is a lot of tools that the idols can use to interact with the fans. From fan meeting, high touch events, surprise appearance, and v live. Yes, the latter one is used more often by the idols to interact the fans worldwide. They will going on live, streaming and chat with fans.

4. Kpop is not only about a song, but also the performance

K-Pop (Korean popular music) is a musical genre consisting of pop, dance, electropop, hiphop, rock, R&B, and electronic music originating in South Korea. In addition to music, K-Pop has grown into a popular subculture, resulting in widespread interest in the fashion and style of Korean idol groups and singers. The focus on detail especially on the performances aspect is what make people follow Kpop.
