What happened to fx? Do they leave SM entertainment?
Fx, originally consist of 5 members girl group before one of the members - Suli, left the group because of the dating scandal with Choiza. Their last proper MV, "Four walls" was released 4 years ago, on October 27, 2015. The album received favorable reviews from music critics, who noted that the other members had the opportunity to showcase their vocal abilities more following the departure of Sulli. Although on 21 July, 2016, fx actually released another new song, titled " All Mine", with a pretty decent low cost MV for SM station short project. With lack of promotion, come back and activities together, does fx still exist in K pop entertainment? SM has put fx is dungeon deep down the SM town and never give each members their interest.
Well, me Us should know better now that fx won't longer have a comeback as a whole group together because one by one of the member left the agency, SM entertainment after their contract expired this year, 2019.
The first member from fx who left the agency is Amber. The 26-year-old announced the news on Twitter on 1 September, revealing that she had ‘decided to part ways’ with the company after her contract with them ended, while thanking ‘everyone who believed in me’. She posted a handwritten note (written in both English and Korean), that read: ‘Hey everyone. I would like to announce my contract with SM Entertainment has ended today and I have decided to part ways with the company."
Not long after that, exactly 4 days after, victoria, the leader of FX follows Amber's path and post the news about her leaving from SM entertainment after her contract expired on her own private weibo. Victoria went on to explain how to wants to leave with ‘no regrets’ and is looking forward to what she describes as ‘an end and also a beginning’. Although SM still try to negotiate with her to continue the contract, because we know that Victoria is one of SM money maker in China and that Victoria is really popular there. Of course SM want Victoria to be still in the agency. Yet, fans already sent their farawell to Victoria and hoping that she left Sm soon and never look back. In a last message to fans, Victoria added that she’s ‘grateful for all the trust and support’ from fans and hopes that she hasn’t ‘disappointed anyone’.
It seems not only 2 of the members decides to leave fx after their contract expired, because soon after, another fx member, luna, the main vocalist also left the agency. SM has shared an official statement with SpotTV news that both f(x)'s Amber and Luna will not be renewing their contracts with SM. Now only one member left from fx, no other than our ice princess, Krystal. Fans find it funny how she is the one girl standing from the group where her older sister is actually the first one who left her respective group, Girls' generation.
