20 Things that you might not know about IZONE

IZONE is a 12 member girl group from OTR (Off the Record) agency, the finalist of Produce 48, a popular MNET survival program. Here is some interesting facts about IZONE:

1. Izone made their debut on October 29, with debut song La vien Rose and got their first ever musical chart win on M countdown, as well as, became the fastest girl group to win a music show award within 10 days after debut. Although Chaeyeon's sister group, Itzy broke the record afterward with their debut song, "Dalla Dalla It's different"
2. Izone consist of 9 Korean members and 3 Japanese members. The first ever group who adopted  both Japan and Korea management system. Izone is the pioneer of “private mail” system, a paying service where fans can get a private mail from their beloved idols. Although it is deemed as creepy at first, many kpop groups begin to adapt this service that is originated from AKB48.
3. Upon its release, the group received immediate commercial success, selling over 225,000 units and peaking at number 2 on South Korea's Gaon Album Chart from their debut album, Color*iz
4. There are many members who are multilingual or at least can speak 2 language quiet well, eg: Chaeyeon (Japan, Korea), Wonyoung (English, Korea), Minju (Japan, Korea), Yena (Chinese, Korea). 
5. There are members who can play instrument too, eg: Minju (Piano, Guitar, flute, Saxophone), Chaeyeon (piano), Hyewon (guitar). It seems there is more than a visual group for IZONE. (Although having 3 center visual: Wonyoung, Sakura and Minju). Even the dancing line is strong at vocal too, eg: Eunbi and Yena.
6.  The members of IZ*ONE are Jang Won Young, Miyawaki Sakura, Jo Yu Ri, Choi Ye Na, Ahn Yu Jin, Yabuki Nako, Kwon Eunbi, Kang Hyewon, Honda Hitomi, Kim Chaewon, Kim Minjoo, and Lee Chaeyeon. IZ*ONE will be promoting for two and a half years before the members are permanently returning back to their respective companies and groups. 
7. The official fanclub name of IZONE is Wizone, comes from WIZARD. The meaning behind is for fans to enjoy the magical journey (WIZ short for Wizard) of IZ*ONE together as ONE
8. The leader of the group is Eunbi (1995) while the younger is Wonyoung (2004) with 9 years of age difference. The younger member (Wonyoung and Yujin) is 169 cm tall, being the tallest member. The shortest member is Nako (149cm)
9. Choi yena, a member of Izone, was sick when she was young, got diagnosed with lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph nodes. The doctor has told to her parents that it might not be cured, but Yena is cured and healthy now because the parents don't give up on her on medical fee. Yena's family isn't rich, so they even need to sell Gimbab (Rolled rice filled with mixed vegetables) to afford it.
10. Hitomi has an older brother and a younger sister. She and Nako is still studying, along with Yujin, Minju and wonyoung.
11. Yujin and Minju attending the same school, in SOPA (Seoul School of Performing Arts),a famous school for Kpop idols with its yellow jacket. While wonyoung, the youngest of group decide with her family to get home study. Unfortunately, less than 1 year due to pressure of being IZONE members, Yujin decide to drop out and choose home schooling just like wonyoung.
12. Wonyoung is smart, getting a perfect score for her Junior examination, Sakura also a member with a strong educational report, her 2nd  year jr high got Japanese 89, math 98, social study 85, science 96, english 94. While the weakest member in academic might be Yujin. (She got 55 in math)
13. The royal pairing of izone including the Hotaru couple (Sakura & Chaeyeon), Twin couple (Yuri, Yena, Chaewon), Triangle couple (Minju, Yujin, Wonyoung). Following through years, there are several new  couple: Yena x Chaewon and Yuri x Hyewon. Sadly enough, they’re from different agency, which means they will be separated after Izone disbandment.
14. Izone have 70% female to male fans ration on handshake event, many articles, and fan meeting. Even some japanese members (sakura, nako) find it amusing.
15. Heart*Iz sold 132,109 copies in the first week which is a new record for girl groups at the time. After that Izone successfully show a great sales power in term of physical sales.
16. Prior to debut, Iz One had endorsed and collaborated with multiple brands including Overhit, Salewa, and Skoolooks.The group had also featured in magazines such as Non-no.
17. Yena has an older brother who is an idol group too. YeNa is actually the sister of Choi SungMin from Coed School and SPEED
18. There are members who already participated in other survival show before produce 48, yuri participated in idol school and Chaeyeon in Kpopstar 3 and Sixteen.
19. Sakura is already a popular AKB48/ HKT48 member in Japan prior debuting as Izone. She is the legendary center of Produce 48 who got center Nekkoya in 1st eps and final eps of produce 48. Her individual video always gets over 1 million. Her nekkoya got the most views compare to any other Produce history, generate buzz all over internet. She got 5 new fansite after she was only landed in Korea. Her rank in produce 48 never out from top 10, the only produce trainee who clear all van stage. She is in Class A and never move down to lower class.
20. There are a lot of fight between the fandom, between individual stan and other individual stan. This kind of dynamic always happens in Produce group.
