YOUTH WITH YOU IS CANCELED DUE TO SCANDAL
The Chinese copycat version of the 'Produce 101' series, 'Youth With You,' has been gaining much attention as it was previously debuted many popular group in mainland. The show's popularity is also rising with BLACKPINK's Lisa joining the show as one of the mentors. It's continuing till 3 seasons and find countless idol members through the show.
The Chinese government published a statement saying that the government has banned all idol competition shows because of advertisement scandal that arise in general public. In turn, 'Youth With You' Season 3 has come to an end without airing the finale. This means that the idol contestants will not be able to debut as well. The scandal broke out where many or fans of the YOUTH WITH YOU trainee, tried to support their idols by buying the product that advertise in the show.
For people who don't know, many Chinese Shows work, online or on tv, they are all sponsored, most times they will have a drink sponsor. One of the sponsors that win the deals to promote in YOUTH WITH YOU is a drink company that produce milk. It was discovered that to be able to votes for your favorite idols in the show, they should buy the product. Every product they bought will get additional of 1 vote. In order to vote for your favourite trainee you had to buy a certain brand of milk (their sponsor). The fans need to scan QR code under the caned to scan QR code under the cap, so they must unseal the milk. Thus many fans bulk buying the milk product for the sake of their idols. Since milk is expired rather fast, many of them become a waste. Fans were buying the milk and pouring and wasting buckets and bucket of it.
There is “no food wastage policy" in China government. This milk scandal becomes a huge food waste and it goes against policies, which is why all these shows are cancelled for the time being.
Meanwhile, News broke out that the finale has been recorded low-key or rehearsed in the midnight of 8 May.The debut team is reportedly formed and the team name is rumoured to be "NINEVER", while the 9-member line-up is consist of Luo Yizhou, Lian Huaiwei, Jojo Tang Jiuzhou, Neil Liu Guan You, Jerome Deng Xiaoci, Kachine Sun Yinghao, Jun Liu, X Duan Xingxing, Sun Yihang. The ranking is speculated to be without manipulation as the show is under pressure.
