The original members of Running Man are Yoo Jae-suk, Gary, Haha, Ji Suk-jin, Kim Jong-kook, Lee Kwang-soo, and Song Joong-ki. This popular variety running show from SBS has gone for so long and it already have so many episodes even it's aired weekly. Eventually some of the cast come in and out, with their personal busy schedule and health issues. It's so sad for the fans when one of its popular members should leave the show, but one by one, it is something that can't be avoided. According to data, the most watched and popular episode in all of Running Man history is episode 131, the game of Ddakji with Korean actress Lee Si-Young and Korean Martial Artist Gold Medallist Choo Sung-hoon. The episode got a rating of 23.6 % based on Korean TNmS TV ratings. Even non-Kpop lovers will know that Running Man is one of the most popular Korean variety shows ever, even resulting in a Chinese spin-off. One of the longest-running and award-laden Korean variety shows, Running Man has been well-loved by fans not only in South Korea but also in many other parts of the world, especially in Asia.
Some the cast members of running man start from a guest star appearance, such as Song Ji hyo and Lizzy. The name tags are the most symbolic item for Running Man, which became popular for its exciting name tag ripping games. They are also very expensive. In one of the shows of SBS (Seoul Broadcasting System) network, Night of TV Entertainment, it was revealed that each name tag costs almost 60 USD (60,000 KRW).
This is several ex-running man members who is popular in the heart of fans:
1. Song Jong Ki
It's known fact that the popular actor Song Joong-ki was once a running man member, he recorded his last episode (episode 41) in May, and has left the program to focus on his acting career but returned on episode 66 as a guest after leaving for almost half a year, and later made cameo appearances in several episodes.
2. Garry
On October 25, 2016, Gary announced to be leaving the show to focus on his music career after being with Running Man for 6 years
3. Kwangsoo
According to his agency, the original cast member is leaving because he's been unable to keep up with the physical demands of the show after suffering an injury in a car accident last year. TV network SBS also released a statement announcing Lee’s departure and urging viewers to “show warm support and encouragement to Lee Kwang-soo and the members who made a difficult decision”.
4. Lizzy
Lizzy was initially a guest for episode 13 and episode 14, but later officially joined the program, starting episode 18. However, she has left the crew since episode 26 due to schedule conflicts with After School, While we know that Song Ji hyo are still in running man members now
On April 3, 2017, it was confirmed through various media outlets that Running Man is adding actress Jeon So-min and comedian Yang Se-chan. The decision came after they showed their chemistry with the other members time when they guested on the show. Throughout the years, the members of Running Man, with their diverse and dynamic characters, have gained themselves some pretty hilarious nicknames. The oldest member, Ji Seok Jin, gained the nickname Big Nose due to his most distinguishable facial feature. He is identified as the show’s Impala because he is the group’s weakest link during physical games. Another top prey is Lee Kwang Soo, who is the Giraffe of the group. He has also been dubbed as the Prince of Asia due to his international fame, and Betrayer Icon due to his treacherous character. Seok Jin and Kwang Soo together are known as the Easy Brothers because they are often the first ones who get tagged out of the games.
It will be a shame to see one of its original members left.
