TIME TO WATCH KBS NEW IDOLS DRAMA "IMITATION"

Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, “Imitation” is a new drama about the lives of idols in the competitive entertainment industry. The star-studded cast includes Jung Ji So; U-KISS’s Lee Jun Young; ATEEZ‘s Yunho, Seonghwa, San, and Jongho; former I.O.I and PRISTIN member Lim Nayoung; SF9‘s Hwiyoung and Chani; g.o.d.’s Danny Ahn; Yuri; Minseo; Boys’ Republic’s Suwoong; Ahn Jung Hoon; and former Baby V.O.X member Shim Eun Jin.

This drama replace the previous drama who suppose air in this time slot, starring NCT members: Dear M. But due to scandal of bullying of one of the female lead, it get postponed and the actress is replaced by someone else.

The synopsis:

Ma-Ha (Jung Ji-So) is a member of girl group Teaparty. Since their debut, they haven't achieved much success. Ma-Ha has received some attention due to her resemblance to popular singer Ri-Ma (Park Ji-Yeon). In the drama that tells the life of idols, there will be 2 boy groups named SHAX and SPARKLING, girl group TEA PARTY, and soloist Larima. Teaparty takes part in a reality TV program, involving popular idol groups participating in sporting events. Ma-ha wants to catch the attention of viewers. Meanwhile, Kwon Ryeok (Lee Jun-Young) is member of popular boy band Shax. He is well liked and is good at singing, dancing, and acting. He is also focused on maintaining his success. He doesn't like Ma-Ha, who imitates the appearance of popular singer Ri-Ma. During the TV program, Hyeok (Jong Ho) from boy band Shax gets injured due to Ma-Ha. Kwon Ryeok bursts out with anger at Ma-Ha. She also receives hate from other people. Ma-Ha doesn't want to see Kwon Ryeok anymore, but they cross paths on TV programs and while performing in a drama series.

Members of the SHAX boyband will be played by Jun U-KISS, Chani SF9, Jongho ATEEZ, Hwiyoung SF9, Park Yuri, and Ahn Junghoon. While Boyband SPARKLING has 4 members played by Yunho ATEEZ, Sunwoong Boys Republic, Seonghwa ATEEZ, and San ATEEZ.

There is also Jiyeon who starr as a soloist. The producers of “Imitation” commented, “Park Jiyeon is perfectly synchronized with the character of La Ri Ma, not only in terms of her visuals and charms, but also in the fact she is a top solo artist. Her bold and sexy charm will make viewers fall for her.”
