Korean actor get hacked and blackmailed
The actor previously revealed that he was a victim of phone hacking and was being blackmailed. A number of Kakaotalk messages from 2013 appeared on an online community board on the 10th titled "Joo Jin Mo Katalks" and spread quickly like wildfire.
The messages show Joo Jin Mo gossiping about women in general and sharing pictures of Japanese models, home shopping host, Miss Korea, and other female celebrities. The chat is full of sexual explicit. It also contain messages regarding parties life and his former dating life. The messages are rumored to be sent to actor Jang Dong Geun, who is close friends with Joo Jin Mo. There is no confirmation if the parties in the chatroom were actually Only Joo Jin Mo and Jang Dong Geun, or is there any other Korean celebrities get involved later in near future.
Joo is best known for his leading roles in the films Happy End (1999), 200 Pounds Beauty (2006), A Frozen Flower (2008) as well as the television series Empress Ki (2013), is a pretty popular figure in KOrean entertainment. Joo tied the knot with doctor Min Hye-yeon on June 1, 2019 at The Seaes Hotel & Resort in Jeju Island.
Earlier on Thursday, the police said they had launched a probe into a case where about 10 celebrities, including famous actors and members of K-pop groups, allegedly had their phones hacked. The police said the hacker blackmailed the victims by threatening to leak their personal data.
Samsung Electronics released an official statement reassuring its users that the recent hacking event does not indicate any flaw in the security of their Galaxy phones or Samsung Cloud services.
Huayi Brothers, the actor representative agency, give an official statement that Joo’s phone was hacked and warned of legal action against the hacker who had blackmailed Joo.
