ZICO SHARE WHAT IT LIKES TO BE ONE MAN AGENCY AND CREATE HIS OWN EMPIRE

Who doesn't know about Zico? The genius rapper who also a singer songwriter and ex- Block B leader are going to create his own empire. Zico is notable for his successful crossover skills within the Korean hip hop scene, maintaining an underground reputation along with mainstream appeal as a Korean idol.

In an interview with the outlet Ilgan Sports, Block B’s Zico talked about his new agency that he created in January, named as KOZ Entertainment. As the founder of the agency, Zico tried to look the talents for himself, as well as maintaining his own schedule as an idol singer. Zico was asked what his standards are when he’s discovering new artists, and he described how he prefers artists who aren’t restricted to one position and who can perform with a vibe that encompasses both underground and mainstream styles.

“I want to play the role of helping them so they can develop their talents. I don’t care about things like whether or not they started out as idols.”

Looking to his answer, it seems he want to create an agency for artist/singer, and not idols. On what it’s like to run an agency, Zico said, “I still haven’t physically felt like it’s tiring or too much. It’s not at such big level yet either. I’m at the stage where I tried to build the foundation. Since I’m the only artist at the agency right now, I need to work hard at my work as Zico.”

Zico also asked whether he’s preferable, to be a singer, producer, or head of an agency, Zico choose being a producer than the other options. He explained, “You’re able to release your work without being in the spotlight, so it’s less pressure mentally.”

Zico was also asked to name an artist he’d like to collaborate with in future. Zico replied with: “I want to work with CL,” he shared. “I think if we had the chance, we could have fun working together. I don’t know her at all. If we were to really work together, there’s something I have in mind that I want to do.”
